Dam! 10 hours 20mins for the fold 6 and its screen size is double most of the phones. Also ran cooler than all of them, I am impressed.
Larger phones usually are cooler since it has a larger surface area for the heat to escape, thats why compact phone burns like crazy (S21 user)

S21 series just has very shitty thermals and battery life due to samsung foundry

It has a 1080p display, which makes around 12-15% difference compared to QHD. The sensible choice to give a low resolution; otherwise, the SOT would be 1.5 hours less and get compared to the Pixel.
@@andyH_England1080p Display is fine for such a slim looking device. Flip used to had below average battery life, but this time they seemed to have upgraded battery from 3700 to 4000 and included 8 Gen 3.

I saw a battery test where the creator used 50% outside and inside. It was still beaten comfortably by the iPhone. Though that was a more intensive test. For some reason, resolution PPI or the use of plastic the internal display is similar to the external in efficiency so I wouldn’t get your hopes up that it would be 13 hours, as it wouldn’t be. The test I saw barely got six hours.

Actually, surprisingly, there is not much difference. I assume the plastic inner display is more efficient than the normal outside panel. So despite being twice the size, there is little extra SOT.

@sebastiengauthier1148unusable? Are your hands gigantic? The z fold screen is the same width as the iPhone which has been sold for many years and no one complained about its size. I love the screen size of the fold. I can use it with one hand without needing ugly one handed mode.
Oneplus open did really well for a the gen 2 with higher resolution screen/larger in general.
That heating from the Samsung s24 ultra is not normal. I think that's what impacted the battery and drained it faster. Probably the new software isn't fully optimized and efficient. But overall a great battery life from the iPhone. Nice work.
Its still amazing but it was even better it was neck and neck with apple in battery in previous tests but now apple is miles ahead in battery ( inconsistently in models because some models have horrific battery of apple where as most s24 u has more or less same battery)
People questioning iPhone having lower battery capacity but this just proves that regardless of how big the battery is, it’s still boils down to software optimization reason why they always last longer compared to other phones.

Must admit the iPhone impressed, as did the flip 6 with the 4000mah battery and smallest form factor. S24Ultra a little bit disappointing with the overheating. Test also showed the efficiency gains with the Fold 6 Snapdragon 3 vs Snapdragon 2
Reminder, that was it's battery life against phones that he set at a higher display than it. If they were all set equal, iphone would not have been first place.
I think you should use Fold and flip phones half tome open and half time with one screen since I think in real life most people also use it that way.

A fair amount of them beat out the OnePlus open in time because they're running an 8 gen 3 processor and not an 8 gen 2 processor. The interesting part is that the OnePlus Open ran the coolest (had the lowest temperature).

Everyone complaining about the Fold 6 only being 4400mah, just ate their words since it outlasted the OnePlus Open and the Pixel 8 Pro....so can we cool it with the hate.
Who checks these tests? In real usage, all these phones will drain much faster, around double faster. For Fold6, maybe around 4-5 hours of screen.
i just have to hope for better battery performance on the pixel 9 pro. i really like good battery life in a phone, but im too used to certain software features to go back to a different android skin.
im not getting my hopes up though. its still basically just an exynos phone at this point and it sucks that im too impatient to wait for the 10 (im on a 6 now)

Samsung fold 6 is impresive. Iphone has 4441mah vs fold 4400mah. Samsung has a maller battery, bigger screen, and lasted 10:21! Wow, i would expect iphone to have done better. Maybe do more balance comparison with only outside display of samsung and iphone
Not sure for the others but Pixel has a learning behaviour curve and after 1 month it starts lasting more. But yeah generally its battery life is not great.

@@rolandkovacs3936 The iPhone consistently down clocks its display to 60hz vs Samsung which prioritizes 120hz as much as possible. So the iPhone is around same optimization as Samsung, but whats crazy is the Fold6 with a nearly 1inch larger display and smaller battery lasted 1.5 hours less, so with a bigger battery or folded it would match the iPhone. Optimization is great on both, they both have their own way of doing things. The end result is not indicative of battery performance.

The iPhone does not have HD plus it is much higher a resolution than that. But the S 24 ultra has a much larger battery to compensate and therefore it is unfair on the iPhone rather than Samsung so sadly that makes the Samsung even worse when we compare scientifically efficiency based on battery size and resolution, a quick calculation suggest if the iPhone increased to 5000 mah and a slightly high resolution to QDH it would score at least another hour. Also we are comparing the iPhone from last year rather than the upcoming iPhone 16 and with battery degradation.
