Thank you, Professor Paul, useful information👍👍👍
Hi Paul its an interesting design .
Thank you for the video which reminded me that I have done this procedure previously, but selected Code 3 instead of Code 4 - the latter is the same as Code 3, but with - 5 khz offset according to Polish CB frequency list. This is a great radio, I have a pair of these in addition to my Icoms and Yaesus, so I do not agree with the view that it is outdated and worthless. It is a hand held transceiver allowing to transmit SSB on 10 meter band - and this is rare with other radios. Of course I can transmit SSB on the same and other frequencies with my Elecraft Kx-2 or Icom IC-705, but the size is different. And the price. With two Albrechts I can maintain SSB communication when on foot, and SSB covers bigger distances. As for DX, in good propagation conditions I have had qsos using Albrecht with a telescope antenna from Moscow to Siberia and Kazakhstan. So, I would not sell these radios which are a good addition to the shack. 73 de R2ARM!
It was a Nice dx because the walkie has a low power watts cause yours normally battery
Nice radio! Old but gold...
It is a great radio.
I have pne and did a lot of DX 10 years back on madeira island.
It was new for 189€ back in 2012
I also owned one about 5 years ago. Small is good, but the quality is not good. I recommend the latest SDR that covers the HF band fully, even if it is a little larger.
Enjoyed doing mine try the battery and amp bt Duane .
Thank you for the video; Do you recommend Alan Electronics with a good report?
Nice HT. Would you recommend buying it nowadays? Thanks and 73.
I had this radio some years ago,I also added a small switch on top to be able to change bands whenever I wanted(mint). Nice idea as a radio BUT mainly the tx audio was horrendous, that is the reason I sold it. 73s great video
As the battery aged, it was unable to maintain the proper voltage under load. That resulted in warbly transmit audio. There are larger capacity batteries available now that cure the problem.
I had a bad experience with this rig. The metal tab for the positive and negative pole of the first battery, in the battery case, can cut the plastic of the battery and make a short. I have a battery case completly melted in my bag because of that. So I put a hard plastic insulator in L shape on the first battery for protecting it.
Let's see where's USA dealer that has one . Waiting
Other than the colour of this radio it looks identical to my 25+ yr old Radio Shack TRC-232. Unfortunately the pin layout under the PTT button is different so I doubt this hack would work for it. Cool video though.
where do you get this info? and what are the other codes for?
Thats a very old mod Paul. Many of the same videos on CZcams with the same. Good weekend my friend from pd1COR
Will that radio work in the USA where can it be converted to work in the USA
Zdravím Vás. Vedeli by ste mi prerobiť stanicku Quansheng UV5 na SSB? Ďakujem Daniel.
Questa radio e' omologata? Grazie x la risposta!
Wow what a ripoff price, but thanks for the tip
got this radio now for 6 years and still love it!
