    Good stuff. Brings back memories whenever we did peanuts growing up back in the late 80’s, until late 90’s in the hill country. Back then it was good ol Ford tractor 7700,7710, TW15, 25 and 35’s..

    Grew peanuts for the first time in my backyard garden. There i was thinking that they were going to take four months. On a whim i decided to dig them this weekend only to find that they were mature and in fact some of them had started to sprout again. I must say that they are very tasty. I am pleased with the results. Will certainly do this again.

      Carlotta Walker I’m glad it worked out for u! Plant them in a different spot in ur garden this time. Peanuts need soil rotation for maximum yield. Good luck!

    What state are you in? What soil texture does it take for peanuts to grow in (in the video it looks like very sandy soil)?

    • @brad7989
      @brad7989  Před 4 lety +1

      Cajunnathan I live in south Georgia. Where we farm, it’s mostly sand. Peanuts like that type of soil. Thanks for watching!

    Greetings from New York. Very nice video. I love it. I also love eating roasted & salted peanuts. A 16 oz bottle of salted peanuts (without shell) cost about $3.00 at stores when they're on sale. A 16 oz bag of roasted peanuts (with shell) cost about $2.00 at stores when they're on sale. Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate it.

    Do those wagons the picker is dumping in have a hydraulic cylinder or do they just gravity unload?

    • @brad7989
      @brad7989  Před 4 lety +1

      Clay Prevatte they gravity feed out the back gate. When they go to the mill, a tractor pulls the wagon onto a ramp that picks up the front end and dumps.

    • @brad7989
      @brad7989  Před rokem

      Our peanuts are usually high yielding so they pull a lot of nutrients from the soil. The hay is great organic material so it’s incorporated back into the ground after we spread our winter cover. This is needed especially when using as a rotation for cotton. We also don’t have cows.
