This time on Air Arms TV South African-based Air Arms ambassador Richard Leonard is out hunting wild game in wintry Alberta, Canada, with experienced guide Emerson Rose. The pair head out for some sub-zero rough shooting on farmland and woodland in rural Athabasca, a small town in the north. Armed with an Air Arms S510 Ultimate Sporter XS in .25 calibre, Richard harvests numerous different quarry species including his first ever snowshoe rabbit as it breaks cover from a dense block of spruce.
A local farmer is infested with pigeons that are stealing grain from the silos so calls on the services of the duo. Will they be able to reduce numbers of these wily pests? The same farmer has also asked them to cull a crow to use as a deterrent to scare off other crows and ravens from breaking into grain socks. They are extremely intelligent birds so just getting close enough is tricky. Will Richard catch up with any corvids?
After helping out the farmer, Richard and Emerson are back to patrolling local woodland. As it is only legal for Alberta residents to hunt game birds with a single projectile rifle, Emerson jumps at the opportunity to have a go with the Air Arms airgun to harvest a ruffed grouse. With just one shot, he cleanly takes the cock bird and then demonstrates his neat trick for breasting game birds without the faff of plucking!
Before finishing for the day, the pair also stumble across an area where beavers have been felling trees and damaging woodland along a water way. They are a huge pest to farmers as they block trails and streams, but there are not any around to cull today.
The area is teaming with wildlife and hunting opportunities. The Canadian backcountry has plenty of sport on offer for Richard and his new Air Arms airgun. Richard is definitely taken with the area!
So nice to see someone who has kept to their roots shooting the manufacturers rifle that their channel is named, I congratulate you for staying true.
Appreciate it Garry👍🏻

Right, FX got them all like zombies! They’re many good guns out there and more to come. I want a 510 but can they shoot slugs?
lindsey2010 this comment was not based on what gun shoots what ammo, it was based on the fact this channels name is what the you tuber is using. I only congratulated him because he has kept true too the name of his channel and the rifle he is using. I use a sub 12 ft/lb rifle so I can not use slugs or not as of yet but they are coming. Why would someone call their channel I.e flintlocks and balls if they are going to use a bow? Using a fx is not a air arms does that make it any clearer.

Perfectly clear.
That .25 absolutely pole axed that snowshoe
Great change of pace! Way to keep it different! Love your vids Richard
Thanks mate💪🏻

Awesome video! Welcome to North America!
Great video and very interesting. Very different environment and conditions to Oz and SA. Greetings and happy new year from Oz.
First and foremost Richard, Welcome to Canada!
Now, as I'm have an appointment and can't watch this video right now, I'll be back later to finish watching this adventure.
Turns out that this video seems to have more interesting things to see, ( air gun hunting wise ) than a normal video, whodathunkit?
Interesting, is somewhat of an understatement for this one Richard, I'm glad you enjoyed a part of 'my' Country, although I don't live there. The video was well worth the
wait for me,..thanks again for another good show.
I'd like to think that there may be more videos forthcoming.
Merry Christmas Richard to you and your family, and all the very best of good fortune in 2020. Happy New Year!
Thanks for that Reg and merry Christmas to you to mate!
That was a lekker video mate.
Excellent video some great shooting love your enthusiasm nice to see you’re still at it.
How different did you find it not being able to use a moderator? Canadian laws are extremely restrictive in many respects, even with airguns. It would be nice if we could get them to change their minds and allow us some quieter air rifles.
I right there with you Veev. I prefer to take every measure possible for a potential second shot👍🏻
süper ❤️
Great video, Canada is awesome!!!!!!
Great shooting
Man dat air rifle is powerfull
👌👍
Nice shooting man
That Snow Shoe rabbit looked a lot better before it was walloped with the .25.
I wonder does that bird skinning trick work with pigeons or other game birds? Might have to try it.
Give it a try James, I’m sure going to be trying it with lots of other game species👍🏻
Works on ducks and pheasants as far as I know
Always better results when the bird is still warm
This Is ultimate sporter xs xtra?
Id love to go hunting in Canada my S510 would defo be going with me.
Athabasca.........never heard of it.
Glad to se you sir, i like the gun so much.
What kind of bird did you hunt ?
Duck hunting!!!
Son buenos rifles, pero muy pesados para mi gusto.
Richard. I thought Canadians was limited to 10 fpe at air guns !??
@Casten without a lic we are limited to less then 500 fps (about 5 fpe) With a firearm license (PAL) then anything above, no limit. Pistols are another story altogether.
@@flashgordon99999 can you hunt with 5fpe
@@christiannelson730 yes. Grouse
@@flashgordon99999 didn't think that be possible
@@christiannelson730 depending upon the caliber and or weight of the pellet will determine the amount of energy. So the way it is written it could be a 14 grain pellet at 500 fps and be legal and also provide more fpe. In my youth I have taken many rabbits and squirrels with 6-7 fpe air rifles. Just need to be within 25 - 30 yards.
What calibre rifle and what ft lbs?
2:54 That whasn´t a airgun shot !!!! Even with a .25 .cal a rabbit will not explode like this ! -:)
It definitely does explode like that with a .25 air gun.
What type of power is the airarms putting out
Hello, how many shots does that rifle give at 850 fps, greetings from Chile
brasil. ..
E perffeta..
15:20 canadia loool
Are you done with making videos. You haven't posted a video in 3yrs ?
We posted a new video yesterday :) We have now started to create more content and will be posting more regulary
@airarmstv yes I've seen the last video, but I was refuring about the guy who used to head line your videos? I think his name was Richard Leonard? Where is he?
Looks more like 17 hmr on that first shot on that hare🤔
Rógvi Mohr nope just close range on the 25 cal, that riffle really packs a punch
@6:39 very nice slow motion shot.
I love airguns, hunted with them since I was a kid, but it’s bad luck 🍀 to kill a crow.
I killed one, and we had to sell our house an move out.
Every day a crow would come and two on the kitchen window 🪟 with its beak, because I killed it’s friends or partners I guess, but it was definitely scary.
The more I killed, the more they came back, it was like fighting a gang that didn’t end.
Hope that farmer didn’t have the same problem we had.
But I do enjoy shooting all my air rifles and I do love ❤️ rabbit 🐇 meat 🍖 and dove 🕊 meat 🍖 since I was just a kid 👦.
Try them get them doves 🕊 on your slingshot, then you will understand what I’m taking about, air guns and rifles were the upgrade. Guns make too much noice to make constant kills in one ☝️ area without scarring the whole family of the animals.
Thank you 🙏🏻 for this awesome video.
I enjoyed it with my lunch. 🍻😎💪🏻🇺🇸🤑👍👍👍
Quit the background music too distracting
WTF at 12:15 mark.
Not at all LOL!
