As part of The Survival issue, we’ve got a live performance from sultry urban-led soulful R&B singer AREEJ as she performs her single ‘5th blossom’. ⁠
To refresh your memory, singer-songwriter AREEJ is a Moroccan-Sudanese hailing from West London who is bound to win many a listener’s heart with her music.
Embracing her R&B and Jazz roots, AREEJ delivers a beautiful slow-jam ‘Bloodshed’ filled with ambitious instrumentation and raw delivery.
In a genre-bending wave that is almost impossible to box in, AREEJ has created something that leaves you instantly captivated. With her distinguished tone and silky melodies, the singer guides the listener with a thought-provoking backdrop.⁠The loose harmonies dominate the chorus and exude a sense of plea from the singer, which has such an impact.
