- In most games, the best characters feel awesome to play, rewarding to practice, and fair to play against, win or lose. But then, there are those characters that throw good game design balance in the garbage. Characters that make you want to break your keyboard in half when you die to their cheesy bullshit. Today, we’re ranking the characters that ruined scenes, destroyed games and just plain suck to play against.
Here are the top 10 most hated characters in esports.

I was seriously expecting to see Brigitte since her impact was so big the only way they could nerf her was changing the team compositions in overwatch league.
Brig is a dead horse at this point, they've covered her in so many videos so I think she was deliberately left out this time

Brig is Overwatch's most hated character, but she is overcovered. I don't think Sombra deserves this list, though. She's a minor annoyance, not as disliked as Orisa, Widowmaker, Hanzo, or Doomfist. Probably even less hated then Wrecking Ball.
OG Mercy could also be on there
There is no way Brig wasn't at the spot where sombra is for OW.
She literally force goats for at least a year before she got her 14 nerf and still to this day she terrorizes tank mains.

i think people forget, the Zarya buff that happened when brig was introduced is what really started GOATS. Brig was good, but zarya was able to be a dps with that buff.

Techies will always be #1. It's the only hero that can gave you brain damage it doesn't matter what kind of rework they made aslong as he have mines.
He's still annoying. Not as annoying as before sure, but still very annoying
The Score may have forgotten about so many R6S characters (looking at you: Lion, Ela, BB and just ACOGS in general on 3 speeds) and a lot of OW characters (Brig, Sigma, Echo, Bap etc) it’s unbelievable how many good characters those 2 games had…
those I can and somehow did put up with but if i see one clash it just makes me wanna die tbh

And thus Techies has been reworked significantly. No more Remote Mines, No more Stasis Mines, Proximity Mines tweaked and moved being an Ultimate. The two abilities were replaced with Sticky Bomb and Reactive Tazer.
And for some reason, he is annoying to lane against now HAHAHAHAH
And now he can one shot kill u with the right build awesome!

I mean this video should be renamed to annoying characters in games, because some of the picks mentioned are actually a disadvantage in an eSport. For example if someone actually plays teemo the enemy team would actually be glad.
I don’t even know what game you’re talking about but was it also like that at LAUNCH? My general vibe I get from these vids is like a time capsule showing how bad/good characters *were* at a certain time.

Teemo is hated not because he's an OP champion but rather he's not. If you get killed by a teemo, you tilt because teemo is probably one of the weakest champion in League of Legends. He doesn't have a stun to outplay you and the only time you get outplayed is from your mistakes. Any jungle gank pre-6 is probably a free kill while a gank post 6 is hard due to shrooms and ruins a good gank for no reason.
As stated, the guy is hated not because he's weak but because the weakest character in the game killed you. It's like you're a 6th grader and loses to a 1st grader in a fist fight. There's nothing more humiliating than a death by a teemo top/mid.

After playing Dota for so many years and playing against techies, teemo is absolutely nothing lmao.

Techies passive is 1 hour per game
techies' skill is to deal mental damage to your opponent. Sadly no one knows how to siege with a techies (literally get aghs and put down a minefield sign under their tower. The enemy can't fight back or else they die to a stack of mines)
Until the end of the video I was like " omg imagine them not mentioning techies from Dota 2, and then I saw it is freaking number one so... Accurate list in my opinion even tho I don't know the other 9 characters, they do seen annoying tho...
But believe me none can reach techies.

TF2 sniper is an oldie but still a broken goodie. He can claim entire sightlines by himself without putting himself in too much of risk and his only true counter is another sniper...

The best counter for a Techies is another Techies player. I have to many fames as Techies it reach the point I can predict enemy Techies bomb sites.

Sombra is torture. Sometimes sombra mains like to have a little bit of fun and they use their voice line “boop” while in stealth so you can’t see them but can hear them and then they hack you and leave you paranoid that they will follow through and finish you off

@@thetigerking2971 personally if i died to a bap i often respect it but if we were talking about his immort i can see what your coming from. but then again from personal experience bap isnt that bad. yes his immort field is annoying but at least you can coordinate to destroy it or block it form LOS; but against a brig, sombra, and mei they are in a completely different league. cant move, cant use abilities, and can't play the game. :)

We are talking about a community that says breeze is a terrible map when characters like Astra and Viper exist. 2 characters with abilities that literally require 0 brain function to use yet can block off multiple angles of contention easily and for a long ass time.

Also in Warcraft 3 i was a techies main. Haven't played him in dota 2
he's change from kill you with a detonate bomb from anywhere to kill you with sticky bomb and tazer at lane
Riot really said that abilities weren’t supposed to kill you then added raze to the game to get an ace with one shot.
You forgot Leeroy for Tekken 7, the wing chun master that forced players to use in order to win tournaments
For me it's neon from valorant. Her kit isn't that great or annoying but her ult is just straight up busted. It's a laser gun that punishes you if you don't tap her quick. I'm not really low elo but even I struggle to hit her while she's in her ult (faster movement, laser beam with no damage drop off and it's full accurate). I can only imagine how much lower elo players would struggle against her.
My main problem isnt even her movement but when her laser is in my face i cant see shit
Ye the other day i saw a iron kill 4 radiants with her ult and the reason he didnt get the last is because of his iron aim and his lazer ran out...i mean come on riot..

Silver players love to say stuff like "get better" "it's so easy to one tap her" "if you're struggling against neon, you don't deserve your elo", etc. Heard it all already and i know for a fact that it's all b.s.
It's very easy to call somebody a noob or a bad player when the enemy neons in your elo are all trash. Remember, the better you get, the better your opponents become

lol, I used to play a lot of Mei and Sombra when I played Overwatch, and now, among other agents, I play Raze in Valorant.
The thing is - none of those are OP. Mei and Sombra are quite easy to overcome if the enemy team works together, and I like that because it punishes the egoistical players.
Also some people may say that the reason they are annoying is that they deny their ability to play the game and limits your choices, but again, there are many strategies to counter Mei or Sombra, and imo people are just annoyed that their regular routine doesn't work, and they are forced to think outside the box to counter them.
Idk what people don't like about Raze. Many weapons can one tap you, and showstopper has a long animation and the rocket is slow, so it gives you time to avoid it. Also she isn't the only agent with high mobility (Jett, Neon, Yoru) or the only one with AoE abilities (Brim, Viper, Killjoy, Sova, Phoenix, KAY/O, Neon, Breach), she just have many of them
Although I understand how they can be annoying if your team refuses to communicate and the enemy Mei/Sombra/Raze are good enough
I had the exact same thoughts when I saw those picks, like I understand at low elo Mei and Sombra can feel like cheese but if you play them into a team that doesn't follow up, they're not as effective. Even at high elo you don't see Sombra or Mei unless the enemy composition is *just* right. I personally only find Raze frustrating when she murders me with the rocket when I can't see where she shot it from, other than that her kit is literally Jett but actually does damage
You got it right. People are so annoyed by Sombra's abilities that they overlook her limitations and balance. She's a "Damage" hero who doesn't really do much damage on her own. She has to pick on hacked and/or low health targets to make kills. She drops EMP but it's not like she's going to wipe out the enemy team single-handedly. If you think about, you have to coordinate with your team to use Sombra well- which is a very good thing for a team-based game.

mei, in overwatch 2 she is no longer the most hated character, she suffered a small nerf, she no longer freezes, only with her ultimate
Late mention to Pre-nerf Happy Chaos. Imagine giving a character, in a game where mostly everyone can play offence with some opening for you to get out with either a DP or using meter or burst, the ability to keep you a full screen away for infinity. Thank goodness the nerfs made it so you could at least engage this blue demon without pulling your hair out.

Echo from R6 is one character I think everyone found annoying to play against (before the cloaking nerf). He was almost always banned and i rarely got to play him.
I played both Mei and Sombra in the overwatch scene for a bit while it was still popular, then I moved to tanking since no one else wanted to do it and I missed the good times ever since....
For the absolute longest time I thought I was the only person that truly despises Sombra, but yea I slowly found out a lot of people have the same feelings towards her and how she makes the game not fun as literally any Hero once you get hacked.

When Yuumi came to Wild Rift, she instantly became my top pick after one punch Sett. All I have to do is sit back, watch the enemies try to kill my teammates, and WR's version of her E when needed
I really hate Yuumi + Rengar mechanics, it's so broken that he actually escaped all the time without getting caught properly after bush Jump + Q then Yuumi E then run away even my Darius W + Q animation cancel and ghost cannot beat this guy.

People back then complaining about Mei reminds me a lot how people whined about the Pyro in TF2 and the W+1 mechanics the character brought to the game lmao
If you have the ice climbers you have to also include Tinker from Dota 2. That is the exact same mechanic. You get "grabbed" aka "hexed" once and you are in an infinite combo that just doesn't let you do anything against it until you are dead.
Honestly I am glad that you guys I’m doing that. Cause trust me I deal with that when going up against Mei…she is a nightmare.
Thankfully they reworked techies kit. Gone are the days of wanting to que for a “quick game before bed” getting in the match for a techies to be picked and the game stalls to 1hour30mins of pain and suffering
this video just shows how much you know about Valorant. I think is consesus on higher level that Jett, Sova and Astra are by far the most hated agents in the game. One has a get out of jail free card, another one has wallhacks and last one can has so much impact from anywhere in the map. Their high pick rate on pro games is also a good indicator
Sova not only has to place his arrows, but they're destructible. Wallhack is a bit of a generous term
Idk about that. Sure, people agree those characters are the strongest, but I don't see many people get as annoyed by them. Maybe Jett, but other than that I would only say maybe Viper gets people as annoyed as Raze and Breach.
I don’t know about sova, but I definitely agree with the astra. You literally have pros complaining on Twitter about how she makes omen and brim irrelevant, she’s a sentinel from across the map, and she’s brain dead easy in top play, and then you put breach FROM THE BETA with 2 flashes and say he’s unfair

Techies actually existed long before teemo did.. and that Techies was even more terrifying considering they can stack mines, with indefinite timer, in 1 place at level 1.. which means Techies can kill anyone, regardless of level, while they stay level 1..
yeah... his shroom can't be easily counter even with 5 sweepers on your team. He's build for guerilla warfare...true to his character
Pre rework techies was not broken, or really ever meta, but the fact that it forced both teams to fundamentally change the way you play dota was so infuriating. As a support, you were forced to invest so much in true sight, as a carry you feared for your life just walking through the jungle or pushing towers. Even if you were on techies team you had to deal with the fact that every single fight is pretty much 4v5 because your techies would be off mining somewhere. Dota is already quite a slow game, and techies would just draw it out even more, or insta lose.
Fun fact, after 7 years, Techies from dota 2 was finally removed from the game last week

As Cypher main playing against a Raze is annoying, she just destroys all your trips and cams with her grenades, her boombots goes in ur tripwire and ur left with no ability to play with.
As someone who played Smash back in 2008-2012 I can say I agree with the choice made. But Also someone who plays Overwatch and quit smash 10 years ago. I think half this list could have been just Overwatch. Sigma Brig Bap Echo are maybe the most bs heros in the game. At least with Mei you can kill her. Echo you gotta kill her 3x and Bap stops all play making. Sigma stops flanks Brig has a ult that says I love teen men and you just lose lmao

Actually, there are a lot of characters in Tekken 7 that players despise. And well, it's far more frustrating to be destroyed by a cheesy character that also is super easy to play. Leroy and Fahkumram are the prime examples.

in this video we should have seen the most op characters (jett, brigitte) and not the high risk high reward ones (like raze and sombra)

brigitte should be here. she was meta when she came into ow. was the lynchpin of goats which was meta for a year and a half. was meta for double shield with snipers. is meta with ball comp right now. she has been crazy nerfed and is still arguably the best support in the game. so crazy

If we're basing hated off "being meta" then Genji and Rein must be the most hated characters in overwatch. If you said "she's hated because of her CC and ability to essentially be an extra DPS" then yeah, thats fair.

I liked seriously just because Sombra is my main in OW. But you have to admit that she is really fun to play. You can be anywhere at anytime and just blink back to you where you were.
If this was annoying characters, Rampart and Caustic from Apex Legends (Caustic before the nerf) was real annoying to play against especially a rampart who just sat behind her walls all damn game and just shot you.

Can we show some love for Pyro from Team Fortress 2? Either they burn you because you have low hp, they have a reflect for rockets, pills, and stickies that mini crit on hit, or they pull the Phlogistinator and have guaranteed crits.

Im surprised Viper wasnt on here, her entire kit is hell to play around even with her nerf, her ult is basically a free round if u can hide or camp somewhere safe in the smoke, oh, and u get decayed so if u walk into say her acid pool that you cant see, you die.... If you dont play her like that, you basically are throwing or extremely new to the agent. (And it sucks)
I think you forgot to mention Symetra from Overwatch all because of her turrets can be placed almost everywhere
They also switched the role que because of the so many reworks to overwatch and people would just not play any support or tanks…

This list could just be about 20 dota heroes, there are so many annoying characters in that game. Just off the top of my head : Huskar, Hoodwink, Riki, Venomancer, Viper, Slark, OD, Morphling, Dark Willow, Arc Warden, Silencer, Weaver, Winter Wyvern, Bounty Hunter, Drow Ranger, Void Spirit, Pudge, Spirit Breaker, Sniper. Like if a game has multiple of these heroes it just makes you want to die irl.
The only ones that are actually annoying from the ones you've listed are Venomancer, Viper, OD and Spirit Breaker. Pudge is an actually weak and unreliable hero, it sucks more to play with him than against him and all the others can be easily countered with items or a somewhat functioning brain. And I don't get how you didn't mention Tinker, if you don't have Pugna or Zeus, that guy is an insane pain in the ass.
I used to main raze during the first 6 months of the official release and she was waaaaay to OP back then. She's like quarter of what she used to be like. Her ult was always a guaranteed kill. Her satchels were nuclear and would need no charge ups to deal max damage which was 75 iirc. Would even deal damage to teammates lol but they removed that. Instant rocket pullout when satcheling so no way people could kill you. Boombot would could kill players so often because of the high damage, specially in pistol round. I stopped maining her and moved to sova and cypher because playing her felt a bit off after the nerfs. I don't even run when raze ults anymore. The ult won't kill you even when it's been aimed properly more than half of the times. But I still play her when I have to fill and I don't think there are other characters as fun as raze.
