  • We're sipping a terrific mystery whiskey in Tucson, Arizona, but is this Irish Whiskey or Scotch? A big thanks to our friend Kathy Hughey for this one. Can we guess this whiskey after only 5 sips? Play along all summer long with our 5 Sip Friday weekly series where we test our palates to see how we've grown as whiskey tasters during a blind whiskey tasting. We might be sipping American Single Malt Whiskey, scotch whisky, Japanese whisky, bourbon, rye, Canadian whisky, Irish whiskey, finished whiskey...any whiskey! At the end of every episode, we say whether we enjoyed the whiskey and find out what we've been sipping, usually to our great surprise. Join us for the most honest whiskey reviews you'll ever see.

That Westcork has been a fun one to share and go back to from time to time. They have another expression called Bog Oak which is more earthy than the Peat. Cheers.

That apple note is always the one that sticks out for Irish to me. I have a cask strength from West Cork, but not anything with peat. I can't say I love it, but it has improved over time.

Like a little bacon in my whisky. Chewy is also great for me. Love the malt and chocolate. Glad you dialed down the proof. Irish ... wild. I have been enjoying West Cork when I can get it. Thanks for sharing!

Back in the saddle...you guys did great on that one! Not heard of West Cork, but sounds intriguing. Great sample of something different from Kathy:) Cheers!
