My hometown is Torrance, California (Just outside of Los Angeles), the home to the third highest population of Japanese people in the world, with our proximate island on Pacific West Coast, Hawaii which has the second highest population of Japan itself, worldwide. I am Mexican/Japanese American, I have family both in Sinaloa, Mexico as well as Fukuoka, Japan and the least believable thing about this is that Japanese people are common in the U.K. You would sooner see more Japones/Nihonen in Brazil over the U.K.
Stop fetishizing our culture. Its gross. We cannot simply remove who we are when fashion dictates, unlike you do. So stop telling our stories over our own voices. It's cheesy and gross and old.
