"Four Stars," with its poignant melody and evocative lyrics, always brings me back to memories of my late dad, Engineer Joshua Adede Ochieng. Every note feels like a gentle embrace from him, reminding me of his unwavering presence and the love he showered upon our family. Though he departed on the 7th of April 2002, his spirit remains alive in the melodies of this song, offering solace and nostalgia in equal measure. As I listen, I feel his guiding hand, urging me to reach for the stars and carry on his legacy with pride.

Soft rhumba at it's best......a selection from great talented musicians which gives me a flashback of far back in the early 80's.
I first heard this in 1985 when a fellow researcher in our lab gave me a mix tape of African music. Kelele was my favourite track and I've loved Les 4 Etoiles ever since.
Kabyby, remind me of my late father who passed away in 2010, we used to dance to this song at every function hosted at home in the late 80s and early 90s.

Ba relations - will never forget this song. It reminds me of my late cousin on my mum's side (sekuru Albert, waigona slug). He used to find me exciting with my choice of music when I was singing along this song. RIP sekuru Albert. Never had enough time with u but will always remember u cuz.

The first time I listened to this album was in Homa-Bay, Kenya, Cave Inn Club. My own brother staged a disco (Exotica Disco) in the club. That was circa 1985. These songs still make me feel the same way. Sometimes when I love a song too much, I forget how to dance. Long live 4-Stars.

This whole album was a masterpiece. It brought up a classic genre very different from the other rumba beats and there has never ben any like it for me. What happened to the 4 stars
The 4 Stars had a reunion a couple years back. But most of the members except Bopol were regrouped as Kekele for Acoustic Rumba.
Nyboma is doing well and owns a studio in Paris.
Syran M'Benza I guess is performing with Samba Mapangala.
Bopol Mansiamina is back and forth between Paris and Colombia.
Wuta Mayi released a nice rumba album last year

Bopol had a stroke on 2017 and he is still recovering. He lives in USA and visited Colombia for performing a couple of times
