- The Democratic National Convention speaker schedule for Tuesday features a warm Illinois welcome from Gov. J.B. Pritzker and a keynote speech from former President Barack Obama.
Main programming for the DNC kicks off at 6 p.m. at the United Center and doors open at 4 p.m.
Tuesday’s theme is "A Bold Vision for America's Future." The headline speaker of the night will be former President Barack Obama. Former First Lady Michelle Obama is expected to speak as well as the Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff.
The second night will present a stark contrast between the Harris-Walz vision and Donald Trump’s plan. The program will emphasize the forward-looking approach of the Harris-Walz ticket, positioning their plans as a pathway to progress compared to Trump’s proposals, which are framed as regressive.

Being objective, Barack is a great speaker and I even laughed at him using Trump's crowd size obsession as a metaphor for size shaming him. 😂
But it's not enough to make me forget Kamala's terrible record the past 5 years. Or enough to get me to overlook the fact that no one voted for her and that she was installed in at the last min for the sake of "defending democracy."
What is the terrible record?. And before you go through the typical uninformed MAGA points I want you to support what you believe with facts. So if you are going to addressed inflation (which we have some of the lowest in the world) I want you to explain to me how the President or VP can lower the price of milk or eggs without nationalizing those industries. And if needed I will point you towards the ongoing industry's price gouging which is really easy to identified if you watch their yearly profits (before COVID, during, and after). Again, it is all available online since the companies report that information. Be specific because I will use basic capitalism and free markets to address the points of ignorance used on that area by MAGA. Fuel prices the same, make sure you understand how that works and that the companies running oil in the US are private. If you think you have something on the border please bring it, but be aware that the current laws (8 U.S. Code § 1158 - Asylum) allow people to cross and request asylum and that is NOT a crime. That is why CONGRESS has to change the current laws, the President cannot do that. A bill was created in Feb 2024 mainly by Republicans to addressed the border and Trump told MAGA Congress not to bring it to the floor. It is all on record. The same happened under Bush in 2006 and Obama in 2013 anytime legislation is proposed to change the laws governing the border (asylum, immigration, etc) Republicans block it. Presidential executive orders are temporary and they can be challenged and reversed. Check Trump's record on the border he was reversed 5 times and he did not fix the border. So have something other than the typical lines that only works with uninformed MAGA followers.
I do know that Pres. Biden did passed more marked legislations than any other president since Johnson in the 60s and his term is not over. A simple google should provide you that information. And as far as Harris been the Democrat nominee again familiarize yourself with the process. Is all written and explained on how delegates are selected (via election or caucuses). They have the authority to commit the votes. And since Harris was on the initial ticket it is definitely not a stretch. again, if you need help I will point you to the regulations governing the process, but you should be able to take the initiative and informed yourself.
