Diamonds are neither rare not precious. It has just been promoted by the De Beers corporation which holds the majority of diamonds worldwide. It has no intrinsic value. It is abundant in nature. It has low resell value.
De Beers made good money out of it.
There is no fashin/luxury product on the planet which has any intrinsic value. (Plz don't say gold, that is a currency).
Diamond is the only luxury product in the market that actually has a resale value.
Incomplete statements can be misleading. One should have a bugger mindset.

Hi here r some of my questions for yest. I logged in at 9:10. Completely forgot about the video bit kept for download for watching later. Most pure Diamonds are only used for Jewelry in India atleast and I heard once u sell them u only regain 60% . Am I right or wrong ? Plus I know people convert part of their wealth in gold and dont convert to silver since is volatile & used for industry. I ve only conversion into diamonds in movies Is there a difference in uncut and pure diamonds ?

Big brands are claiming buyback guarantees but without setting a bar for the price of diamonds so it’s tricky to comment unless personally tested (which is costly). Yes, people tend to convert it into Gold instead of Silver. You ask 10 people around you and maximum will say Gold, cause it’s easier to buy and sell as per them. For silver they will make faces as they haven’t checked it out, without buying something or experiencing one just looks away. If Gold is at all time high and silver is at it’s lowest, someone would be a fool to go for Gold, trust me people are fools when they don’t see what they’re doing these days. Only buy Gold if you think you will never get good value for Silver. Conversion into diamonds would be like tearing apart yourself and your wealth. Uncut diamonds are not modified as such or are not carved into any any specific appearance as compared to other diamonds. Not sure if you have heard about Polki Diamond Jewellery...that is an example of uncut diamonds. Uncut are pure but not that appealing.

Correction: that ring in the beginning does not have 50 pointer diamond.
Pointer unit is used for single stone, not total weight of many diamonds.
50 pointer diamond would refer to a single 1/2 carat solitaire diamond.
That's ring has 18 stones with a total of 50 cents, that means the ring has approx 0.027 cents each or 18* 2.7 pointer Diamonds.
