Friend in work had one of these in the 90's in London, he called it "THE DESTROYER" and the tales of how it beat everything were legendary in the office given loads of people had Ferraris and supra turbos :) it didn't matter what car we were talking about, "THE DESTROYER" would always end up dominating the conversation :)
25 years on, the legend of "THE DESTROYER" is still being talked about.

People may laugh but I had a Turbosystems/ Severn Valley tuned RS Turbo Fiesta that ran 20psi and was a fairly quick little car. It could keep level with a 350 bhp PJ Motorsport tuned Sapphire up to 130ish off a roll consistently. It was left standing by an Uno Turbo with 5 people in! There were some very fast ones around back in the day.

I had a much modded fiat 128 with trick suspension and it was a giant killer and I regret deeply selling it, old Fiat's are very much underated and that's a shame as I had so much fun in that car, my friends had Uno turbo's and I was shocked at how quick they were, brilliant little cars.

Haveing owned three uno turbos and I used check them off the transporter when new. The reason they had coolant issues was because the header ta k would crack so long as you looked after them properly what a great car. A blast from the past happy memories. The stock engine was 105 bhp

Watching these at 1.4bar ripping outta Southend in the 90s WAS the best of times in life, the bleed valve was king, and head gaskets were disposable 😅
To me it was the best time for the car scene too, no willy waving an wallet slapping or kiddie beef. Just home grown skills/friendships making humble cars slay giants 🔥
What a gorgeous car, you need to get some maestros, montegos, cherries an the like on ricky 💪🔥

I used to drive mine hard everywhere, never had a problem. The engines were bulletproof if they were looked after. They actually prepared the engine for the turbo tho, hardened valves etc...not like the R5gt where they just strapped a turbo to a 40yr old engine design and hoped for the best.

My first car was a wide arch (hormann) mk1 fiat uno turbo when i was 18. Paid £1800 for the car and £2100 to insure it third party only 😂 best thing i ever did. Full scorpion exhaust, boost controller, fuel controller, huge air filter and dump valve. It was so rotten underneath, within a year the rear suspension came crashing through the rear arches and into the boot so i had to move on to a Punto GT. Ohhhh the memories 😥 nice to see there is still some alive!

Lovely legend of a car, I currently own a MK2 uno turbo (a very clean example, no rust and 95k miles) myself and I’m just in love with it. As a 21 yo in Latin America this thing turns heads a lot just because such old cars are left rotting 90% of the time, and we only got a total of 146 examples from 1990 to 1994 (10 of those were MK1’s) and most of my friends that are my age had NO IDEA such a car existed, and it’s just hilarious seeing their faces after they see it take off. Great video lads!

I remember when I was 17 circa 1999 and got my first car a J Plate Nova Sri, and I thought I was the man about town, and remember getting humbled by a white fiat uno turbo i.e and i am sure it was on a H plate, so as we came off a roundabout and on to a bypass, the galling thing was it was 4 up and it just slowly accelerated away,
After that I knew a turbo charged car was the move, and the next year bought a fiesta rs turbo and a love affair with RS’s ensued.
