In a nutshell, I ‘m an avid dumpster diver, scrapper, picker, treasure hunter and underwater connoisseur. I prowl the city streets in search of dumpster loot, curbside treasures & scrap metal as well as scour the river bottoms for lost valuables during the summer months when I can scrounge up enough money for gas. One of things I like best about your videos is the fact you wear the head light which make your videos much better to watch. This allows you to use both your hands which gives the fastest hands in Texas

I dont even scrap but I was walking to the store and passed a bog ol open top on my way to the store. I hopped up to look and it was full of wire and metal studs. I took pics and sent it to the guy who takes my pallets and metal junk from cleaning out the church building. Gotta be lookin out for eachother

Watching you use those two brushes to comb through the garbage makes me suggest that you use a hand held three pronged rake of sorts used for gardening.
I've got one of those on a stick. One of the best tools I've ever made for DD

When it rains you can:
* Tear down something like a big motor or a ballast etc
* Drive around curbside, or look on Craigslist, Freecycle, Facebook groups, etc for curb alerts- go direct to the scrap no waiting
* Do a project like build a scrapping work table, etc etc

Dumpster diving is one way to help the rest of us stay on this planet a little longer. Taking those Rims may have given you 3 hots and a cot Keep on keeping on Mike some things are cool and some things aren't

I retired fireman you can scrap that extinguisher you just have to make sure it's empty and twist the top off and it's safe it's nothing to do it's easy.
also some places wont take them unless theyte cut up or flattened

17:06 "What are these?" They look like once very expensive(?) Cisco wireless access points to me. Possibly the Aironet 1140 series... If so, they are End of life in terms of support, but they probably work just fine, even after their short flight from the dumpster to the truck.
you can always teach children and adults how to use a fire extinghisher, with this kind of expired ones.... always fun.

That stainless tubing is Instrument Tubing. Expensive stuff new.
Extinguishers may be discharged and the top cut off with a angel grinder (soft metal)for recycling. Halon extinguishers are discharged under a water mis and CO2 is d. into the air while pointing nozzle away from face, wind at your back.

washer hoses, just cut off the crimped part pull out the rubber liner. I get clean SS for washer hoses, kitchen/bath and toilet supply lines that way

The CPR people make great Halloween decorations.
I love how we all look at it and see different things. I would have been going crazy about the fire extinguisher. That was the gem of that load. Clean it up get it recharged and either keep it or sell it and make about 75 bucks on 1 item. When I was scrapping I was always looking for those big items to make all the littles worth it.

I gotta agree with the others. I don’t think a cop is going to waste his time with a guy who says “I left a set of aluminum rims next to a dumpster and they disappeared “. Nobody in their right mind would leave those outside and expect them to be there when they get back.
maybe they were set out to be picked up by another shop etc. the whole if its by the dumpster means its fair game is why people have negative views of scrappers as thieves. if it looks to good to be true, make some effort to verify first before just grabbing
