- Welcome to our Lowkey FITB 1Reaction!!! This is our latest video reaction from our new music reaction channel Beer’s & Bars. Here we listen, react, and breakdown bars while enjoying some of our favorite beers. Just when we thought we’ve heard the best session, another FIRE artist comes out of nowhere and changes our whole outlook on the booth!! Lowkey FITB was more than jaw-dropping, it was one of those lyrical highs we never came down from! Of course, every artist that we witnessed wreck a mic brought their A game and killed the session but what Lowkey did on his FIRST session makes us so mad that we waited this long to hear it!! because it's a national treasure, Lowkey is a very conscious rapper and got blackballed from a lot of platforms for his intellectual rap and messages he preaches

Lowkey retired to study after he was targeted by the government and even pictured falsely in the news as a suspect during the London riots. His house was raided and he was named even as a terrorist at one point. He was also on the flotilla that was bringing aid into Palestine when the Israeli special forces raided the ship and killed people on the ship. Guy is a real G.
He is an all good human being.

As a Londoner who grew up on UK rap, I never tire of watching Americans reacting to UK rappers - and especially Lowkey's 1st FITB!
Couple things that make this FITB even more incredible: this was in the early FITB days when swearing on the BBC was limited so the pauses are Lowkey censoring himself! And also, this was done in the first take! When FITB became bigger with better production, rappers were allowed multiple takes until they got it right. Lowkey stepped up and bodied it in the first attempt. Ridiculous lyricist.

Lowkey is another level. He more then raps about corruption and injustice. He does loads outside of music. Obama nation pt 1/2. Terrorist are three quality tracks. There's an interview where an American news lady is trying to make him look bad and it doesn't work out for her. Atall. He's a genius and not just with writing. You can gather mic ritchious is heavily influenced by him.

There was a lot of controversy around her case and how she went missing as her parents left her at home and went out at night. Millions have been spent looking for her over the years to find her but no trace.

This is special, like literally a one off. First listened to it when i was getting into grime as a young teen, 24 now and i still catch things or realise how clever some of wordplay actually is

Just so you know the pauses were self censorship, this was a radio broadcast so at the time no swearing which makes it all the more remarkable
He's fiercly politicial having had an Iraqi father. He's really outspoken about Palestine, and is really smart. Well worth a follow and one of the few who's been around forever. Like Kano, Akala & Riz MC , they mix the UK Grime with polticial activism and righteous fury.

He is gonna blow your minds!! he, Akala, Mic Righteous, Logic, English Frank and more were part of a crew called "The Peoples Army". Nice, this was one of the first fire in the booths when it was actually a freestyle, not a pre-prepared song. All the verses are just parts of discography, hence the small breaks

He's a really really amazing guy, not just a huge hip hop talent but such an inspiration as a political activist, on a whole other level
I first heard Lowkey wayyyyy back in the day through a beatboxer called Faith SFX in a vid they did and it led me to his Alphabet Assassin which you guys should check out (obviously way different to this FITB style)
Also, I highly recommend checking out some SBTV videos especially F64s, some old school Akala (storytelling in his second F64 is elite), Ghetts and the like 🔥

I recently listened again to the soundtrack to the struggle album which i spent loads of my teenage years listening to and unfortunately it still rings true, if not more so now.

Honestly I think this is the best rhyming I've ever heard. It's weird to say that because on the grand scale of things Lowkey is an unknown artist from the UK but this is just so so crazy. At the very least I've never heard a flow and cadence so clean.

Great reaction, check lowkey’s daily duppy, and the return of lowkey. He’s one of the OG’s and part of the movement with Akala, Mic and more where they focussed on lyricism to change the message of grime and called out government, bureaucracy and current affairs and got black balled by mainstream media and quite frankly changed the game… 🙌

Love your channel guys. So many peices of rap history i went through, always wondering why no one in the US was ever speaking on it. This is one of those peices. When he dropped this i was convinced he was at the top of the entire game. Another group you should check out is rhyme asylum. But not their fire in the booth, their tracks.
