    You can also iron your fabric to the waxed side of waxed paper. It sticks really well. We’ve been doing this in the quilting world for years to make labels for our quilts.

    This is such a great idea. This is why I love CZcams so much because there’s so many creative people are in the world. I have a lot of fabric and I’m so glad I have a way to use it now. I can only create so many pillows. I just realize I can print someone’s face on the fabric and then make a pillow from the fabric. I’m definitely going to try that.

      not for me in Canada as we do have freezer paper available in our stores and even ordering from Amazon. But the sticker paper sheets that I found on Amazon (the link is in the video description) are so cheap and reusable for 4-5 times and no measuring, trimming required compared to the freezer paper that is not cut to size by default that I find the best solution for me is really the sticker sheets. :)

      I just hate the fume of the spray adhesive in my house and can’t go out easily (specially during winter) so, for me, it is an awesome way and the stickers I buy on Amazon are so cheap (and reusable 4-5 times) that I do believe they are as cheap as spray glue honestly :) I heard some are also using freezer paper but we just don’t have that at all here in Quebec (fon’t understand why! 🤷‍♀️ :)

    For those of us without sheets , I came across sheets of cotton made to go through your copier. They're 8.5 x 11 inches, same size as USA letter size. They're called Inkjet Fabric Sheets, 10 pack. I've yet to try them, but you've inspired me to open them and try. Looks like it's made by Jacquard.

      that works too :) I just wanted to avoid spray in my workshop and with winter here, I cannot go outside to spray all year long so, when I found those sticker sheets .. I was in love and the ones I bought on Amazon (I added the link in the description) are so cheap that I wonder if it’s worth the trouble of the spray and the price! with the sticker sheets, you can re-use them a couple of times because they stop adhering the fabric enough so, it becomes even more cheap if re0used.

    They make special paper for fabric labels. It's like the sticker paper but no sticker.
    You can also use baking paper. You'll have to cut your own size of baking paper. You can get a big roll st Walmart (It's sold next to wax paper, but it's not the same thing)

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před rokem

      for me, in Canada, the cheapest is those sticker sheets (I included the link on Amazon in the description). And you can re-use them to print 3-4 sheets of fabric before they stop holding the fabric enough to print again with it. + you don’t need to trim them, they do not roll as they are flat. :)

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 9 měsíci +1

      it is cheaper than wax paper as well. If you look at the sticker sheets I linked in the description of the video, they are cheaper than wax paper and you can re-use the same sticker sheet for about 4-5 fabrics

  • @debbie1016
    @debbie1016 Před 2 lety

    Freezer paper works great. You just iron the fabric to the freezer paper. Do you use a medium to stop the ink from running in washer? I use a product called bubbler jet. It makes the ink permanent so it does not wash out in the washer.

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 2 lety

      interesting! I didn't care about the ink running in the washer because I do not plan to wash them ever but it is good to know for other crafting projects for sure :)
      I am not sure about what is a Freezer paper ... it doesn't seems like we have that here. Do you buy that at Walmart for example or you need a more specific store?
      Thanks for all those tips :)

    • @debbie1016
      @debbie1016 Před 2 lety

      @@odulcina freezer paper is sold at Walmart. It is made by Reynold's. It is a white butcher paper with a wax coating on one side that's you can iron onto paper or fabric. It is sold in the isle of stores that you would find plastic wraps and foils in the USA . It's is ment to wrap meats in to freeze. However it has other uses such as those listed above.

    • @odulcina

      it is just regular deskjet ink … so, no contact with liquids as it will leak. glue the fabric with glue such as 3in1 or fabritac as they are not water base.

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 5 dny

      yes, exactly :) you tear off the sticker once printed and you can re-use the sticker sheet a couple of times. The sticker sheet’s purpose is only to give some structure to the fabric so the printer can grab it and roll it in. :)

    Hello Anne Thank you so much for the fab idea. My only question is if the fabric is sticky on the back side one your peel off the sticker? Does the sticker leave any adhesive on the fabric? I can see your other piece are not. Thank you for your reply and all the best

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před rokem

      so far, even if I leave the sticker on the fabric for days or weeks, the fabric is not sticky at all. This works very well I find. If you go in the description of the video, I have added a link to Amazon for the sticker sheets I bought lasr time and they are cheaper and works as well. :)

  • @priscillasmith2073
    @priscillasmith2073 Před 10 měsíci

    Do you have to peel the sticker portion from the backside of the printed fabric once you are finished printing. And, can you tear the small labels or must they be cut?

    • @odulcina
      @odulcina  Před 10 měsíci +1

      If you want to cut the labels, it goes better with the paper still on the fabric. If you want to tear the labels, you need to peel the paper before for sure. For the small labels, I tear them but on the edge or when it doesn't go straight or if I have a hard time to tear, I cut the fabric (even if the paper has been peeled) and then, with my fingers, I kind of damage the edge of the label to make it look not so perfectly cut! :) I hope this helps :)

      you cannot wash at all. you would need to print on fabric with a color laser jet, not a deskjet. The ink of our deskjet printers do not like water on paper so, same for on fabric.
