- The SS21 Fashion show takes inspiration from design and the Italian architecture of the 60s as per in the Parco dei Principi Hotel
Key words are Architecture and Italian genius.
The Architecture mode of shapes, volumes and contrasts. The entire Fashion show is built following architectural criteria with very precise and clear proportions.
The architecture, art and sculpture and the handcraft are reinvented in sartorial pieces, presented in a mix of unusual volumes and special construction styles.
The palette made of white and blue with touches of gold takes inspiration from the chandeliers and the armchairs;
the shade of marron and the colour rope are inspired by the colour of the wood and the handmade straw chairs in the Hotel.
The main character is the sea, the light blue of the tiles which embellish the spaces, mixed with the while linen canvases, nylon and with the natural materials in the shades of the blue Mediterranean sea.
Aesthetics of an incredible charm, sophisticated in the colours and shapes.
Simplicity and purity which reinterpret and honour the Italian design genius and its creativity, visible in pieces of incredible freshness and harmony of proportions.
The construction of the majority of the pieces are juxtaposed in a very precise and current way
Essential codes are:
Multi materials, oversize volumes.
Multi materials, overlapping and juxtaposed shapes with oversize volumes are balanced by expert tailoring skills
Formal suit jackets with back inserts of knitwear, trousers in multi materials, outside piences become jacket’s main characters
The shirt and the jacket, formal and timeless pieces of a man’s wardrobe, are reinvented following new inspirations;
structured shirts in poplin cotton which blends and talks with the iconic “maiolica“ print here presented in a blue geometrical version.
Each shape, each outfit is in harmony and reflects the inspiration. A fashion show which talks about elegance, personality staying true to the brand distinctive traits once again here reinvented.
The new Dolce&Gabbana man pays homage to art, sculpture, art of ceramics, architecture, design and craftsmanship with a new and contemporary spirit.
Between 1960 and 1962 Gio Ponti created a series of blue and white ceramic tiles for the Hotel Parco dei Principi in Sorrento, a splendid precursor of today's design hotels.

I'll admit: I only clicked in for a cursory glance, but I ended up loving it. The creativity (sometimes OTT) and glamour of a fashion show is just what I needed after this week. The muscles didn't hurt either.

Beautiful clothes, still masculine but with modern cuts. Liked the prints and the different shades of blue. Very wearable. Didn't particularly like the music, but great show.

Some of the clothes were cartoonish and some of the models were not ... but there are wearable clothes in this collection and some of the guys are top shelf and actually knew how to be men and walk .

I know this is from last year, but I don't think many would normally dress head to toe in these outfits, as they are worn on the runway. The most probable is people normally combine some pieces with other things. Just like when you walk into a store and the mannequin is dressed head to toe with one designer and many layers, you would probably just wear one piece at a time.

Nice i need work
Weird but so many collections for 2021 are this patch-work/color-blocked/pattern mismatched bohemian chic look. It's a little trickier working with patterns, especially mixed-up ones with different scales.
I grew tired of the "noise-on-noise" mess. When the patterned pieces were matched with something simple, then some worked. The flowy 70s women's wear dilhouettes reminded me of aging gay hairdressers in Palm Springs or Ft. Lauderdale. the stiff patchwork baggy pants looked like rave wear -- esp when the panels of blown out denim were sewn in the middle.
It was an army of pieces that looked more like a retrospective thnn this year's look.
They omitted the hottest look.

I love the clothing and the colors but not the singing... for the venue the music was way over the top. The designs I enjoyed and loved.

I loved the singing but this fashion was not to my taste, I like much better when they do shinny extravagant pieces that look like they were made for royalty.

This whole operatic sideshow was just so distracting. You need your audience to focus on the clothes, keep those things simple.
This is a mistake...EuroTrash esthetics aside, the staging of tenors in sneakers mixed with Acid wash denim is an 80's nightmare we don't want to revisit.

That was all over the place. The only unifying idea seemed to be "I am the pretty boy toy of a rich gay hairdresser."
I'm deaf, so I can't hear the singing trio: somebody forgot to tell them the show is not about them. The white sneakers emphasized how much they shuffle around -- almost like nervous children.
I agree with all of your comments. Moreover, this speaks of the times we live in, yikes, so disjointed.
@@TheMusicforhealing - Some of the shows I've watched, like Parke & Ronen, achived a casual "thrown together" look. Another comment on this show said many of this year's shows are going for loud granny prints.
I'm of the opinion that if a fashion like doesn't make ideal young men look mind-blowingly fantastic, then what could it possibly do for average lookers?
I found the unifying idea: somebody who is not quite as talented as Picasso decided to become a fashion designer.

So many handsome models. I’d wear some of these clothes. The music though, it’s very distracting. It’s like they’re trying to copy the VS events with the live singers. Not a good idea, it cheapens the show. I dont like this season’s set up. Too much going on, with people moving around.
Cloth is horrible... looks like pijamas made from my curtains, the fashion show... boring.
The music was terrible in this setting, the daylight flat and the models looked like fashion victims, not in a good way either, first year fashion designer college student way. I guess not a good year. Some combos maybe would've been better with others, mix it up more but yah no stayers coming out of this for me. Maybe a hat or two....
The singers are distractingly cheesy. I get the joke. But the clothes are cheesy too, unfortunately.
