Seattle tradition Voula's Offshore Cafe recently appeared on Food Network's "Diners, Drive-Ins, & Dives", with host Guy Fieri. Original air date, June 18, 2007; used with permission. voulasoffshore.com/
This is my favorite place in Seattle! I've been eating there at the very least once a week for the past four years. I'm so happy my favorite Greeks made it onto this show. It's done SO much for their business this past year. :) Congrats boys!
I saw this episode when it first aired but I only got to this restaurant this past weekend. Loved the food and the brothers and our servers. Glad I finally got to eat here.
Oh man..this place rocks. I've eaten there a few times. The food is amazingly good. I made the mistake of going on a Saturday with some friends and it was packed. Food was worth it though.
That family is incredible. I can’t stop laughing and the dance Voula does at the end of the counter after giving the boys the stern look. “What are you doing look with her hands on her hips just killed me. 😁 This is the best one I’ve seen.
11/23/21. Came from Columbus, Ohio looked up some of Guy's trible D places, decided on Voulas it has Great food, ordered the Chinese pancake, Greek Hobo, and Smokey the Salmon. However the website should mention that you need your vaccination card to dine in.
Now that my wife are empty nesters with 5 children own their own, i can say if we lived nearby this restaurant we would probably eat there 2 times every day, great family, great food, reasonable prices, and when just 2 of us eating, it would be just as economically feasible for us to eat here than at home, especially with the prices at grocers and the cooking time involved, even though i like to cook
I'm irish, live in u.s., i can say without a doubt that greek families in the u.s. that own diners, have the best diner food, for the majority of them, period. Big portions, delicious food, reasonable prices, friendly service, etc... my wife and i are empty nesters, we are blessed to have a greek diner appx. 3 miles away, and we eat there fairly often. If you are out of town in a mid to large size city, and you see a diner you might want to eat at, open the front door, and ask them if they have greek salads, if they say yes, you are in a place with good food, big portions, and reasonable prices. Outside of a greek gyro shop, i have yet to eat at a greek owned diner or restaurant that did not serve a greek salad. They are very proud of their salads as well they should be, greek extra virgin olive oil, greek imported feta cheese, and kalamato olives, etc...delicious. Voula's looks like a gem of a diner, God bless her/family/friends, and her business, amen.
I totally agree. The absolute best restaurant owners hands down. They always involve their whole families, only deal in quality ingredients, and really care for their customers. Greeks are an absolute treasure in the Southern US. Especially Georgia, Tennessee, the Carolinas, and Florida. We love them!
@@Boberino btw, if you are ever in clearwater beach florida, head a little north to tarpon springs. Is a highly populated greek city with amazing greek restaurants. From what i heard many greeks immigrated there to make a living as sponge divers, apparently that area is loaded with natural sponges off shore from the beach and many greeks have a unique gift to be sponge divers. The greek food is impeccable. Have a good day friend
btw, Voula is an attractive lady, i'm 56, but i say that as a gentleman, so many folks these days try to take a compliment out of context and make it vulgar, i hate that
@@elizabethdarlington She's like the best grandma in the world from the way I've seen it. She seems so nice, welcoming, as well as funny. The world really needs more people like her
Visited this last May 08, wonderful "real" people, the brothers were so personable and the hobo was Delicious!!!! Will go there again, nothing better and such nice guys!
btw, i don't know what is so hard about this, but if the restaurant is not irish, scottish or greek owned, folks do not know how to make fresh, tasty, home fries ?, it ain't rocket science, but the stereo type is true, irish folks love potatos, i eat them appx. 300 out of 365 days a year, usually twice a day, the other 65 days i usually have pasta or rice, sometimes in a soup if i am not feeling well. Oh well, i will just keep eating at the places where i know that they know how to properly prepare them. The fellow on the grill in this video at Voula's, her son, he knows how to make them .
My a of Norwegian/German heritage: sees the nether Norway or gemany is listed. "Oh, I'm nun too pleased that you've left some good cooking Nations out of that list. It's very much unjustly do to the face that we be cousins in all do to my heritages influence on your heritage."
@norb1937 Guy Fieri has a more urban intensity and a cooler edge, although nobody can touch the legendary jaques pepin and julia child, guy fieri has a cool edge.
Without a doubt anytime you go to a Greek diner or restaurant you will get the best price biggest portions and best Greek food you won't regret and you will come out family she's right they hug you,I know I'm of Greek decent we have the most hugging kissing cousins ever 🤣😂 You may get a lesson in Greek dancing at the diner too! My grandfather came from Thessaly Greece as a young boy was a sheepherder and became a chef in USA. Ask next time for the homemade Greek spinach pie spanokopita. Yummy 😋 OPAH!!💃🕺
@norb1937 You're just a hater dude .... if you don't like it dont watch. All i know is I myself would LOVE to eat at ANY of these places on this show!!
Guy came in as stranger, left Voula's as family...
That is rare in today's world. Stay safe and healthy.
How it should be. Be safe and healthy!

Watching that slo mo part and Voula's dance always makes me laugh.
I went to school with Nikos and I absolutely adore him - he and his family are the sweetest!!! Congrats, Nikos, on your success!!

This place has been my favorite Seattle breakfast joint for over fifteen years. Highly recommended!
He's a very down to earth person, he doesn't have the celebrity facade many of Food Network's chefs have.
Cool to look at a comment like this 12 years later knowing all he still does for small restaurants. Guy is the man.
