(038) Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus 100% Walkthrough - Final Boss: Clockwerk

- In this part, we fight and defeat Clockwerk, and beat the main story of the game. Note: The original fight got messed up so I had to re-record it after beating the game at 100%, just in case anyone wondered.
CLOCKWERK
Difficulty: 5/10
Clockwerk's Attacks: Clockwerk has 3 phases to his battle. In the 1st Phase, Clockwerk will only fire small purple shots at us. In the 2nd Phase, Clockwerk will throw metal rings at us that will shock anything outside of them.
Strategy: In the 1st Phase, we simply dodge Clockwerk's attacks until Carmelita shoots part of Clockwerk. Once she does, we fire on that spot (it will be "highlighted") until we destroy it. Once we destroy 4 parts of Clockwerk, we enter Phase 2. Once Phase 2 starts, we fly through the center of the metal rings that Clockwerk throws at us in order to avoid getting zapped; while waiting for Carmelita to shoot Clockwerk. From here we do what we did to damage Clockwerk in Phase 1 until we destroy 4 parts again and start Phase 3. In Phase 3, Clockwerk will fall into the lava helplessly, and we must navigate the area to get over to and finish him off. Besides falling in the lava or setting off the security lasers, we don't have much to worry about until we jump onto Clockwerk's back. Once we get on his back, we beat the living daylight's out of Clockwerk's head until we knock it off and defeat him.
that voice is very underrated. it perfectly fits with Clockwerks character

Phoenix Prime, WUSS! Clockwerk the Owl is my fourth favorite antagonist in video games!
You know what? You're being really rude. First off, I'm not a "wuss." I'm far from one actually. Secondly, don't go out calling somebody names when you don't know the person, because that's just downright annoying and awful. And third, just because I had a nightmare about a certain fictional character it doesn't mean I'm a "wuss."
And Clockwerk happens to be one of my favorite antagonists in video game history, too. Even though he turned up in my nightmares, he's still one of my favorite characters. No stupid nightmare will change my thoughts about the characters I admire.
Phoenix Prime, point taken. My apologies for offending you, especially since my most traumatic thing that I have ever experienced is Marx Soul's Ear Rape Scream. Gave me three months of nightmares...*shudders*

This brings back so many memories! I love this game. I played it so much when I was 8 years old and I still love it.
Sir Raleigh the Frog, Mugshot, Mz. Ruby, and the Panda King are like level 1 boss battles; Clockwerk is like a level 5 boss battle.

Considering how the video game movie formula has finally been cracked, I do hope that a movie is made from the Sly Cooper series. It'd be cool to see how Clockwerk would be portrayed, and probably fleshed out.
Looking forward to seeing if you're gonna be playing Sly 2. Sly 2 is definitely my favourite in the series :)

One thing I don't understand: In Sly 2, we're told that Clockwerk's eyes have the power to freeze opponents with a hypnotic stare.
If Clockwerk's such a genius, why didn't he use that technique on Sly during _this_ battle, at which point he could have killed him instantly?
What, would he have considered that too easy?
Ether He wanted to kill Sly personally or PIS or it wasn’t thought of yet all these sound possible
Likely, the creators thought of this technique when number 2 rolled around. Giving the parts their own unique quirks is what made them interesting.

@@legofrederick3262 at some point during the start of the Cooper clan of the thieviest racoonous he had that hatred and then became a robot later ( the theory that Penelope made him to kill sly is possible but that means she in advertently cripples Bentley) we don’t know and that what makes him great

Is it just me, or was this fight kinda...underwhelming?
Like, he brags about being "superior" but all he does is just fly around and shoot easy to dodge projectiles at you. Like...that's it? It's a really cool fight and all, but I think they should have done much more to test one's skills they earned through the game. Maybe at some point, he takes out the jetpack and forces cooper onto some solid ground, where he begins prowling for him, and Sly has to be sneaky to get up close and land a few strikes while Bently tries to repair the jetpack.
I dunno. Like I said, I'm probably just ungrateful, but this fight just seems kinda..too easy. It's cool, but too easy in my eyes.
Thomas Murrell it was tough when I was a kid. It’s not as bad now that I’m older but the last time I played it I didn’t have any lucky charms, and that was beyond tense. Though I like your idea, if the game gets a remake that’d be an awesome addition, at least if they integrated it properly.
Also, I think this game was aimed at younger kids, so the challenge is also less than what you might expect. I've noticed throughout the playthrough that for the most part, things like the clue bottles seem to be in obvious and easy-to-get-to places. More sutied for younger players. I still enjoyed it in my youth though and at the time, I thought the Clockwerk battle was really epic.
