the absolute hype and support that guy behind the mic transmits is so heartwarming
@Mark Stefan Domondonthat’s the entire point yes
He gained speed because of the absence of wind pressure.
So true 💯 👌
@Kyle Gotherwise I believe he made the world record,
This deserves a ton of respect. The chances of a a fatality when skating at even half of this speed is still insanely high…
@Austin just run on your feet at full speed and hit the wall, now that gonna feel 100 times less painful than this
@scorcher117 I've definitely gone faster than 50 kmh. on a skateboard. Not a longboard, but a regular street board. Fastest was probably like 70 or 75 kmh., maybe slightly more.
So nice of the cameraman to record this record while ignoring his own
@Ralph Fiscus crocs sportmode*
@Ralph Fiscus nah he was such a Chad that he ran on ice 😏
@Max Fire Exactly, cameramen are the only true heroes we have left
Nah.. cameraman can go easily faster than that. We shouldn't forget about star wars, the cameraman could literally stand the speed of a X-wing Starfighter or the Millennium Falcon
@J B you seriously cannot recognize sarcasm?
*"And that's how I became Frozone."*
I came here to say that!!
Long live big SCarr
“Honey WHERES MY SUPER SUIT!?”
Dude broke the speed limit on skates. Respect!
The cameraman skating next to him that is recording this must feel so proud of the guy breaking the record lmao
He would happily plead guilty in court if he got a ticket.
@Ethan_Akro You're right. Anyone could do it. What was I thinking? I bet you can also break a world record if you ignore air friction.
And now without blocking the wind . The legit way 🤣
Yeah, when ingoring air friction
Physics teachers after saying ignore air resistance:
@Stephen Hurd they do say that when they give practical problems when the kids are new to Newton's laws
but there is still loss of energy
@Dénes Kun. please explain ….we always just round on = 3.14
Well, assume it’s negligible, they’re almost the same thing but the science team likes to not infer a total vacuum
“Assume air resistance is negligible”
The Commentator is the best hype man ever
Yes and he was skating besides him!🤣
he's got the hype
The fact this is on a level area instead of a incline is amazing to me, props to him....i bet even with the help i couldnt get past 60.
That's so cool! I love these Red Bull world record breaks. So well done!!!
도전 한다는것 자체로도 인간의 한계를 뛰어넘는거네 대박이다 진짜 존나 멋지다
This actually looks like so much fun to be moving that fast using your own two feet. Air resistance is really holding us back
Technically, if there was no resistance, we could just keep adding momentum regardless of how weak or strong we were.
@Dave Smith the only reason people move their legs somewhat fast when ice skating is so they can turn
@J F Find me a video of the same guy reaching the same speeds without a giant windshield in front of him and I'll accept I'm wrong. In the meantime, calm down.
@Ian Moone technically he assumed the guy wasn't a sprinter / he assumed that sprinters would be faster. I get what you're saying so maybe we're both wrong
Without the shield, once you reach like 50km/h or so half of the energy you spend is actually counteracting air resistance, it would be much worse at 100km/h, so yeah it really does :c
One pebble, one pebble on that lake is the price for a liveleak watermark, respect is off the charts for this guy
There’s not a single pebble in the middle of the lake 😐
As someone who does speed skating I can say that this would be very difficult
I tried ice skating once and after being told to just “bend my knees” by about 9 people I decided it wasn’t for me
it’s all about leg/ankle stability and balance. especially stability, if ur locking ur ankles and flexing ur legs it’s a lot harder.
The fact that this record was broken like a year ago and someone now posting a video about it is just insane
There was a very nice elderly speed skater at my old rink. I miss him
For those who don’t know 100 kmh = 62 mph
@Prince Mell01 In competitions, speed skaters typically cap out at slightly above 60km/h. There's corners of course but I think that is close to the maximum, unassisted.
I’d love to see this unassisted because the cone reduced drag
@Dan from GA As an Asian i need this (only if im not spending time on google to search for it)
Damn none of you paid any rightful attention in school did you. Commenting to the likers not the OP.
Literally had never contemplated so many of the things on display in this video (Ice-skating speed records, eliminating wind resistance, driving on a lake 100 kmph, lakes this large being completely froze to allow this, skating so fast you could really hurt yourself).
The fact that he's skating that fast on natural formed ice is inSane!! One unseen crack or bump and it would've ended in a quick way 👏
Probably didn't even feel like he was going that fast lol. No wind resistance has gotta trick your senses a bit, what a unique feeling to imagine
Probably like if you were skating on a tread mill if that were possible. Especially with the back of the car right in his face.
@brayz game as long as we all learned something for the day, you may be excused 😀
@Smokkedandslammed well, it is its own category of record I suppose. It's just finding the fastest possible speed an ice skater can travel over ice on human power alone, but with external assistances. No different to weightlifters natural or steroid users etc.You are right though it does feel a little cheap, but it's an interesting answer to a question though. Albeit a question very few people have asked or care to know. But here we are 🤷
@THE PSYCHIC PEACH exactly like this 👌
@stevenrs11 ahah good point 👉
Those of you who think this is dangerous, I fell off my motorcycle at 105mph. I was scratched up, broken toe, but good. This guy is fine as long as he doesn't *hit* anything.
This makes me wonder how fast someone could run, with a similar setup that lessens air resistance.
absolutely frozen balls of steel! congrats!curious what tires they trusted on that red bull truck?
Studded winter tires at the least but possibly rally winter tires. Tyre Reviews just did a video on the rally tires and they're pretty incredible
To find a place out in the wild that is open enough and frozen enough to do all of this and actually get that fast not only in a car but … on ice skates no less….. that’s… that’s just incredible
@Eyes_of_Oryx 🍊953к pуб Canada, WisconsinYou know you can run a Zamboni over it If you need to.
When the physics teacher tells you to ignore air resistance:Edit:thanks for the likes
@Tejesh Manyamhe said the same thing someone commented days ago...
"Thanks for the likes"- bruh you literally repeated what TWO other comments said days before you lol. The internet is rotting our brains- repeating what others said just to get an ego boost from the "internet points". Coooool.
@Zelliop [That moment when you correct someone for being wrong on the internet, but are yourself wrong on the internet]
@Awareqwx Diamondepliers trying to be smart by saying random stuff they learnt off the internet(talking to the other comments not the one above me)
@KedanClipse Air resistance is only very slightly influenced by friction. The majority of it comes from the air being pressurised from not being able to move out of the way fast enough.
That's soooo fast! Amazing! People don't realise how much this guy is risking his life. If something went wrong, his limbs would break right off and end up everywhere.
That thing on his front is for prevent from the dense air to hit him with the high speed and break any bones
Just a true testament to how much of a difference air resistance makes lol
This is amazing but now I kind of want to see what would have happened if the windshield suddenly wasn't in front of him anymore
How is he going that fast! 🤯
Notice how whenever one of these badass athletes break a record their support staff is just as excited for them. That’s the type of support you need regardless of what you do in life
How do I find a job like thst
Lol because without him they don't get paid. Its about money bub
당신의 말에 진심 동감이에요. 저렇게 응원하는 친구가 곁에 하나라도 있다면 모두의 인생이 행복할거라고 생각해요. 지구인들 모두 행복한 2023년이 되길 빕니다
Someone yelling next to me while I do the dishes:Crusty forks! dried cereal! BAKED ON CHEESE!!! Wooooo!
Ah yes, the wings red bull finally gave this man
I believe this is the solution to mass long-distance transit. We build tunnels underground. Ice them using heat pumps. Then simply shield the vehicles from air. The shield can be significantly lighter than the vehicles, and so take much less energy to accelerate.
How did he do that? 🔥🔥🔥
HOW DID HE EVEN GO SO FAST
Imagine casually ice fishing on the lake one day and seeing this guy speed past you at over 100 km/h
That’s what, 23 mph? It’s a joke people. Just relax.
@MrConfusedRabbit thank you :3
@syabill I know, but it would be possible if you had wind in your favor.
100kmph is only 62 miles per hour
@Not Gothamchess 80-90 is still a crazy speed
That’s insane and incredibly dangerous
Arnold is a great motivator. His voice is impressive
Makes my dream of being the flash one step closer to being real
If it's going to under a controlled environment, then he might as well just do it on a machine in an exercise lab
props to the cameraman for skating so fast
Nah he's running ice ain't gonna get in the way of him getting the video
@JC🏳️🌈 POV: You've never heard a cameraman joke before so you don't understand it
@Robbie Curtis props to the drone for skating so fast
And sideways, too!
Imagine driving down the bypass and this guy is skiing past you
Way he drifted to the left a bit at the end, I was expecting him to be erased by the 100km wind resistance he opted out of with the tent trailer.
Реально круто 👍🔥
Drafting the truck for the ol "shake n bake"
Skate and bake baby
He is cheating
I read that as "skate n bake" lol.
🤣 SHAKE-N-BAKE 🤜🤛
@E F The Red Bull logo wasn't a dead giveaway?
I watched this and remember the one and only time I tried ice skating and lost both ankles with in about 3 seconds on the ice
imagine the car driver put brakes instead of clutch 💀💀
The moment i saw this video that " I can run faster with no wind resistance" song popped in my head. 😂
Wow! This is awesome!!!
I'm convinced that the first man on Mars will be wearing a RedBull jump suit
😂😂 so true
Wouldn’t even be surprised
the sponsorings this company does are trughtfully awesome and bring so many athletes the support for their rediculus stunts, this isn't pr, this is making dreams come true, the brand is trugthfully giving people wings XD
Now i need to see the legit record... With air resistance
That's pretty neat, but removing wind resistance feels like cheating.
How fast can he go without the wind break though?
There's a man who does not skip leg day.
@John Tran ah I see, sorry mate youtube was bugging out on my phone, chucked it on the pc and yeah I can see what happened now. Sorry to bother you mate, thought you were a totally different person talking about a completely different thing. Have a good night mate
@John Tran ah, I thought you were referring to the question some other person asked me of the whole tailgate thing, as he meant the question as a bit of a joke but I just genuinely wanted to find out the answer. My bad mate, the other guy deleted his comment so I assumed it was you saying that the truck question wasn't that serious as a joke. Completely different and light hearted conversation, not related to the wind dude mate, but yeah my bad, sorry just what you said happened to fit what we were discussing circumstantially. All good, you have a good one aye 👍
@Soggy Biscotti no that was not me bro. im the one who said it wasnt that serious and thats it. go back and check again. anyways its all good and have a good gn
@John Tran I'm aware you aren't the one that made the comment, hence why i didnt say anything to you about the whole wind thing, im discussing what you said about the truck, unless I've somehow accidentally responded to the wrong person as that comment has been removed in which case, my appologies. You're the one that asked if a tailgate on a pick-up truck being up or down is more efficient arent you?.I was just having a light hearted talk about the question with you, and recommended a video I thought you may find interesting if you were actually interested in the physics behind the question, even though the question was meant as a joke. so I'm not sure what got you all up in arms but I think you may be confused somehow. Either that or I responded to the wrong person, but as the comment was deleted I can't confirm that. So yeah... sorry if it wasn't you who asked me that question, but it's not like I had a go at you or anything... But you do you mate. I'm not trying to prove my intelligence, I just thought it was a fun question to try to figure out the answer to. I'm confused as to what I said to you that upset you 🤔
@Gama Sanchez that would require my thinking that I am exceedingly intelligent in some way or at least more intelligent than him. I don't think that at all.A good rule of thumb is to never assume you're the smartest person in the room. Or in this case, the comment section. His demonstration of his lack of intelligence or knowledge, at least regarding the subject at hand, after his insistence that he is correct and that I am wrong, isn't indicative of if I think I am smarter than him, or anyone. It only displays that his knowledge of this subject is lesser than that of my own via his own actions, and my counter demonstration in proving him incorrect. Not my assumptions or beliefs regarding a difference in our intelligence.I've made no assertion that I'm any more or less intelligent than anyone, nor would I. I generally try to assume everyone is at least of the same, if not a higher intellectual capacity unless it is demonstrated otherwise, as is the case with him, at least in this particular field. Thus my statement regarding the Dunning-Kruger effect doesn't apply to my own circumstance in this regard. So no, I didn't call myself stupid. That would be rather stupid of me.In essence, his assertion that he was more knowledgeable on the subject than me by way of his own words, only for that to be proven false, is not an indicator that I believe myself to be more intelligent than him simply because I was able to prove he was wrong. It's him providing tangible evidence that he is less knowledgeable on the subject. I'm sure he is more knowledgeable than me in other ways, or in other fields. He may even indeed be overall more intelligent than I am for all I know. The evidence so far doesn't support the hypothesis, but it could be true none the less. So until otherwise demonstrated, it's best to assume, as I do, that he is of equal intelligence to myself, and is simply less knowledgeable on the topic of discussion. Is that a sufficient explanation of the correct application of the Dunning-Kruger effect?
Wow!! That’s insane
I enjoy ice skating fast when i can and when ive gone, there's just not enough space to go super fast and there's people
So this means anybody has a chance to beat Bolts record, provided they have the correct setup. 🤔
My dad wondering how this guy is following us as he drives
Love the genuine excitement in the radio chatter’s voice. Dude’s fully alive.
@BTS_TOOK_MY_HEART💜 Y’all, I’m blowing up. See you in next year’s CZcams Rewind!
It's all the Redbull he's been drinking
I wish I thought of this. Easy deterministic stunt...looks great....
Imagine the car decides to brake check him 💀
That's some serious Goggins energy
I don't even want to imagine what you could do on a RipStik under those conditions!
Respect cameraman running over 90km/h and still holing the camera stable. mad respect
@a namer here LOl what in the whooshiddy whoosh whoosh
@Mo Dee 🤓
Being a cameraman is way harder than ppl think. Running 90km/h is no joke
@Mo Dee He's right, My name is Car. I'm the man the camera was mounted on.
Physics are insane , the wind hole produced behind that cage is really accelarating him to 100kmh , great physics experiment , good hiden , most are feting fooled that he did accomllish this byhis " own" strenght .. lol
Imagine this dude just blitzing past you and a crowd with a flash suit on,How many do you bet would get tricked into thinking flash is real
“I can run faster with no wind resistance”
Some might argue it’s a bit cheating. Would it be any different if I won a record for sitting completely still but able to travel a certain distance while someone was driving?
As an ice skater I can only imagine how crazy that felt. I’d love to skate on a huge lake like that someday
@gothic dance crumps if water level rises, there would actually be more fishing...
@Mark Washington in other words he's cheating. Might as well get pulled by a rope.
@Terry Blackwell 😂😭💀
@Roy Vdh fr man, I'm worried about the future of fishing :(
global warming is destroying hobbies like this😢
Did he ride to that speed then skate later as we see in this video or he started from zero to 100 on his own? This matters!
If he had wings he would be in space by now
Driving that truck on ice...wow
It’d be cooler if the camera stayed in the same place so it would look as fast as it actually is
“Neglect air friction” got a whole new level
@Moon :P he didnt avoid air friction, theres still air friction. The shield is there to block the wind. Theres still air inside the shield that is creating resistance, he just isn't fighting 80mph winds
He has a shield infront, so he avoided the air fricton
@Craig Decreased resistance has a place in training. In swimming, we sometimes have people pull us or use fins to "get a feel" for moving at higher speeds than we're used to. The way the muscles engage, the timing, etc. feels different at different speeds. So getting used to the feeling of higher speeds can also have an impact on attaining those goals
@Jayden Cassisse they wouldnt freeze to death that fast. I work in sub 0 temps on a daily basis, for hours at a time and i dont even wear longjohns or thermals nor do i have a special custom made suit thats probably designed to keep him warm af like a diving suit does.
This was really satisfying to watch
While me over here taking one wrong step at 1km/h and breaking every bone in my leg.
I don't believe he made it to that speed alone he can easily drag on car and maintain that speed for a while but getting to that speed of skies alone almost impossible
Dude was really skating at 60 mph
Bro took “I can run faster with no wind resistance” literally
@N0t_The_Plague_Doctor yeah tbh it sounded like you were a child on the internet 💀
@Gipel The Commenter I know, I was joking too. Reading it back, it doesn't sound like that but yeah I'm joking.
@N0t_The_Plague_Doctor the person was referencing a song, hence the quotes
@Mark Benedict about 63 miles an hour.
Let us then see. Test
But did he gain all that speed on his own?
Now it’s time to draw his free body diagram
If you understand aerodynamics, and have also seen semi trucks in a wind tunnel, the area right behind the truck causes a turbulence that almost pushes the truck forward. If you noticed, his speed picked-up as he exited the neutral zone under the canopy and remained inches outside where that turbulence can actually propel him forward
The cameraman 🔥
"Assume the skater is in a vacuum" -physics textbook
Sort of like a trash bag in the back of a pickup truck, I wonder if he's getting any help from a tailwind. Maybe he should be completely enclosed. Just leave a bench at the back end in case he goes down.
@LeyKoz_ speed relies on mass and force, force relies on the formula f = ma, where m is mass and a is acceleration
Hold the bar at begining, till the car at 90 km/h.Then release the bar, while the car slowly increase the speed to 100 km/h
@Gucci Horsepiss this is very clearly physics on a macro level, if you assume a mass of 1 ton. Please don't bring quantum mechanics into it for no reason, you just sound clueless. On a macro level and at speeds that are far, far below the speed of light, classical mechanics will do. And in classical mechanics, speed does depend on mass.
I wonder how much damage it would do to him if he fell over going that fastLike I can't imagine falling over and just sliding across ice like that ending well
This looks so awesome. Just the manipulation of aerodynamics
Would this be on Guinness? Even with the air resistance gone ?
He leans forward just the slightest bit, he is done for 💀
Dude was ready to go back into time.
@Jesse McleodTell me you get no bitches without telling me you get no bitches.
@MAN BAN damn, you took it personal, lol
@Jesse Mcleod 🤡🤓
He woulda needed to go 142 to travel back in time lol
Or create another flashpoint 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🎶Flash!🎶🎶ah ah!🎶
Assuming for no air resistance what is the speed of the skier?
We would really like to thank the Red Bull team for their investment and not...slamming on the brakes.
His lungs must be made of melting ice to enable he have a breath to go that far at that speed
Imagine the truck brake checking 😂
you can see the difficulty increase as his stride speed increases. Thats absolutely amazing.
@MAG1CKS I can't explain it in detail but from what I know they would let him change the record if it did which just implies it doesn't create one. Not only that but he's inside there more than he is out it's kinda just a shield type thing. all i know is that the wind isn't creating a slipstream
@Logan Huckabey Can you explain to me the physics of this and why there is no slipstream effect on this? I´m really curious to know is it because of the chamber-like shape of the wind shield that don´t create slipstream or is the point of the effect further back and if it is then how far back?
its called slipstream
@azshulay _ that's not how that works but good job 👍🏼
That's just called out of shape. He's drifting behind the truck. It's literally pulling him to that speed 😆
Omg I cannot believe he just did that breaking human feats of endurance this is what life is about
He went about 64 miles an hour, kmh makes it sound like a lot more
The camerman broke the world record becuz he ran faster than him without air resistance.
A cheetah is still faster on feet! Let that sink in!
Cameraman skating backwards against wind resistance with steady cam... He's the real champ 🏆
@SeansGotJuice I know. And I'm like "yeah right 😒😄" I know he's kidding. Thank you. 😌
@Kristina J it's a joke
I think the wide angle pov is even more crazy, guy's skating SIDEWAYS!
foreal!! the real record holder😂😂
@Kristina J it’s a joke
