That was some exceptionally flat shooting and loved the Baby Oil test as an interestingly entertaining addition! As a viewer side note, medium-to-small handed shooters often will find the end of their thumb resting completely along the ledge (free from the slide), whereas larger hands or a more forward hand position may extend slightly past. While compensated pistols work to bleed gas and are tuned with lower weight recoil springs, the reduced power in cycling (in conjunction with aggressively textured slide serrations) can create adequate drag to affect cycling when contact is induced. Also, as a helpful recommendation when racking optic equipped slides, some shooters may try cupping the hand with palm on the thumb rest side and fingers all opposite for clearance. I wouldn’t consider texturing a criticism rather than a recommendation. All I know is no one has shorter thumbs than me and it’s been a perfect and well thought out addition. Now, if only they’d make one for the pitiful Glock mag release.

i wish i could recommend Icarus, but unfortunately they just aren't able to get blanks at the moment. I've also had experience with Fdez Werx and Agency Arms, both of which are solid. although i believe Fdez is doing a comped full slide.
