I lost my dad in 1992 and my mom in 2017. The pain never goes away. If I had to tell some woman that I was seriously dating about my parents, all they would get is great stories. I'm in tears right now, that song was incredible! Jess, that was very sweet of you to do for Sam! Rider sticking close to you guys was really precious! This song hit home for me because I lost my mom on October 5, 2020 to cancer. To say it was the worst day of my life is an understatement because we went through a lot together with my disability and many hospital trips. Sam, I am so sorry for your loss! I'm sure he is looking down from heaven and seeing the outgoing man that you have become.
This had me in tears bc it made me think of my mom. Haven't seen her in over 6 years, and none of our family know where she is. She's been out where no one knows then 3 years later we find out she's in the hospital. It's 2024 now and I still haven't seen her. So to everyone that has lost or hasn't seen a loved one in a while, just know you're not alone in this cruel world❤
This hit close to home for me too. I lost my dad to cancer on Thanksgiving of 2021. So I can definitely relate and feel for you, but am happy that you have a woman that is so supportive and let’s you be vulnerable and y’all are a team. I reconnected with someone who ended up being the love of my life and the best thing that has ever happened to me right after losing my dad. I am beyond thankful to God for bringing him into my life. I will always try to keep my dad’s memory alive but remember that he would want me to move forward in life and be happy.
The song is so great, I lost my mom very young too, so I definitely was touched by the lyrics. Plus the fact that Jess is trying to hard to stay strong for Sam during the song reveal while he's clearly breaking down, all the while she is feeling his pain and trying so so hard to stay strong for him, that's true love right there.

This song really hit home for me. I lost my dad when I was 8 to an accident. I remember not really understanding what was happening till the day of the funeral. I remember feeling like it's actually final and I'd never see him again. I can't even clearly remember what he looks like without pictures but I'll get to see him someday. Okay, i never cried so much with a song. I fell into it with a parachute and went to find out more about the singer and stopped at this video. I lost my father 4 years ago and one of the things that kept me going the most was my dog, so when I saw yours doing everything to "calm down" the situation, I remembered mine, who died almost 1 year after my father. I know they are in a better place now, and so is Sam's father, but the nostalgia always comes ❤

Hey guys I loved this song Jess you did a great job. And the fact that you made this for Sam is so beautiful and kind of you. I also have things going right now with my family. My dad has cancer and we found out right before Thanksgiving. And unfortunately it's a very aggressive cancer. My dad can't have any surgery bcuz he's at high risk of dying on the table much sooner bcuz he's had very weak lungs for a very long time. The tumor has spread rapidly and also tightened up his esophagus. They tried putting a Stent down his throat it's a device that would've opened up his esophagus more but the cancer spread so fast that it closed it up again and they had to redo the procedure but he can't have any solid foods so he's lost a huge amount of weight/fat. Chemo and radiation would only give him more time with us it wouldn't cure him and he's decided he doesn't want to do the chemo and radiation. Before all of this he's had a broken left arm since 2018. And again they couldn't do surgery bcuz of how weak his lungs were. So he'd already been dealing with that. He hasn't been able to really go anywhere mostly cuz he's scared/anxiety but luckily last Christmas we were able to rent out a beach house bcuz his favorite place is the beach and he always wanted to rent out a beach house and luckily we were able to get him to go. Which was awesome. When he broke his arm we were told he would die soon and we almost lost him a few times. He really has 9 lives but looks like this cancer is officially IT. We're going to lose him now. I'm 27 btw. And me and my mom are his caregivers. But all our family has been supportive and relatives that have come to visit him. And he's starting to get confused and not remember things which is becoming much harder to care to. But me and my mom are trying to do the best we can to take care of him cuz he didn't want to stay in a hospital he wanted to be with US his family. He gets scared being in a hospital alone. So anyway that's my story. And this song touched me thinking of my dad. So I already prepared the song I'll definitely be listening to it alot to help me thank you! And love you guys!!!! 💜💞💜💞💜
