EXCELLENT AND EASY TO HOOK UP BOTH POWER SOLAR GENERATORS TO POWER UP THE WHOLE HOUSE .

I wish Hysolis had the engineering wisdom and the expertise to design this Apollo 5K with low frequency, transformer based inverter technology, instead of the low cost, short lived high frequency, transformerless inverter tech that they used. With only a 2X surge capacity, that's not enough to start and run my woodworking tools. It won't start my planer, router, band saw or even my 3 horse table saw. I don't understand why they simply didn't add an iron core, copper wound output transformer? It might have added some additional shipping cost, but would have added a significant amount of time to the product's life expectancy, and a much higher surge capacity. And why on Earth did they name this "5K" when it only produces a 3kW continuous output? Were they intentionally trying to be deceptive?

2 main units and 2 extra batteries equals just 6k? i thought the main units were over 5k wh each + 2 batteries also 5k wh each. help me with the math. how does it go from over 20k wh to 6k output at 240a? thanks for the video!

Two main units equals 6k output. The batteries do not affect the output, only the "fuel tank" size, or battery capacity. the Apollo "5K" means it has a 5kWh battery in it. That title actually makes it more confusing in my opinion so that's why I only call it the Apollo usually. Each main unit will do 120v and 25a which is 3,000w. When two are linked together that doubles to either 120v and 50a, or 240v and 25a. You connect in series to increase the voltage or you connect in parallel to increase the amperage output. Then within each Apollo is a 5.4kWh battery. Each expansion battery also has 5.4kWh of battery capacity. Two Apollos and two expansion batteries have 6,000w output (either at 120v/50a or 240v/25a) and then a total of 21.5kwh. Each battery is technically 5,376wh.

thank you for replying and your videos. i think i see. the total of 2 apollos & 2 extra batteries is 21.5kwh (5376 x 4)? $.91/wh + cart and misc. ouch, lotta bucks!

@@nerkymusselman8843 Correct. What is being paid for is nearly everything is done for you, plus having the warranty from a single company for all the equipment, plus all the R&D that went into it. Solar generators will never be as cheap as a DIY setup, and I'm not trying to claim that. I am showing a solution that works for people who don't want to or can't do a DIY setup and want a simple solution that works extremely well. I like both options.

other then the initial 240v, could you tell me why someone would get 2 main units & why they’d instead get 1 main unit with 1 battery?

@@nerkymusselman8843 Double solar the input, plus the option to go 240v at any time.

My interlock switch is only 30A so I had to buy a plug to connect to the 50 A and I did worry that it would be a problem. I called your office and the nice lady (your wife?) told me it would be ok.

Kathy is my assistant and manages pretty much all the back end stuff. She's awesome! You're correct, you can use the 50a to 30a adapter and be just fine.
