Who’s still listening and it’s 2024? I discovered Switch back in the 90s when I was still living in SF, Bay Area. Now I’m back in the homeland, Manila Philippines and still loving this song. Just learned the tragic background of the Debarge siblings and for some reason it makes me teary eyed. I am happy God redeemed El whose music I loved in the 80s during high school back here in Manila. Now in my 50s I still cherish this song.
I love Switch and DeBarge, they were such gifts to the genre.

My friends were throwing me a "going away" party at their house when I first heard this song, I got enough courage to ask a girl who I really liked all senior yr but was afraid to talk to if she would like to dance...surprisingly she said YES...my hands were shaking as we started to slow dance and praying to god I didn't step on her toes, she smelled so good and I could feel the softness of her sweater against my shirt, even looked her in the eyes as she asked me how long I had signed up for (6yrs) eventually the song ended and we walked back and more or less said a good-bye, she was headed to college so we really couldn't share much info, anyways, when times got crazy or rough at basic/AIT this was the song and the memory I used to get me through...luckily 40yrs later I found her on FB but no contact because we both have families and obligations...I prefer to keep my perfect memory.
