I've been seeing comments that the 2020 one is not that good. Well, to be fair, the 2020 version was an impromptu voice acting. He was asked to do so on the spot. And tbh his tone/voice range is pretty good even after 10 years. He still delivered it well.

Fun fact : According to an interview published on the DVD version of Death Note, Mamoru Miyano (VA of Light yagami) got so into playing Light that he started feeling depressed in daily life during his time working on the show, which is normally very unlike him.
Definitely it effect you getting into that mind set.

I've keep up with his radio interviews and the panel's and about in season 3 he was so depressed and when the manga was coming to an ended he was so distraught, he called Isayma in tears asking if that really the ending. Isayma said yes. His a manga reader and he tells his other coworkers he won't spoil the ending but his so heart broken.
