Exact type of video I was hoping would pop-up today. It's my day off, I've been up early and been productive cleaning. And I have the house to myself for most of it. So a good 40 min Thomas was exactly what I needed. Gratitude 🙏
Season 4 always has a special place in my heart all because of the introduction of the narrow-gauge engines. As a child, I listened to Willie Ruston's narrations of the Railway Series on cassette tapes including "Gallant Old Engine", "Mountain Engines", "Very Old Engines" and "Duke the Lost Engine" long before Season 4. The first episode I ever saw of Season 4 was "Special Funnel" when I watched a Thomas video called Your Favourite Story Collection, so that episode is therefore my favourite episode as it was my official introduction to Season 4. :)
A very entertaining list the entire way through. Season 4 will always hold a special place in my heart because I think "Peter Sam and the Refreshment Lady" was the first episode I ever saw. Yes your ranking of that episode is fair, and I can never unsee Hordon, but it'll always hold a special place in my heart. Also, I was pissed off when I found out Bertram is the reason we never saw Duke again. He was always a favorite for me and it's a shame we never saw more for him. But with time, perspective, and knowledge with how the series went downhill, maybe Duke got off lucky by never being seen again.

My only problem with season 4 is that Four Little Engines is placed before a Bad Day for Sir Handel and Peter Sam and the Refreshment Lady, even though it clearly takes place after both of these episodes.

I don't understand why people say that "Paint pots and queens" is a confusing mess. The episode takes place in S1 and Duck and Donald were background characters.
It's not a mess by any standard. It's just the continuity thing for me. Duck and Donald weren't in season 1 as you know and they established this episode is meant to be set at the time of season 1 when neither Duck or Donald and Douglas were on the island so they shouldn't have been in the episode. I know that I'm preaching to the converted but still 🤣🚂🚃

Season 4 is also another 1 of my favorite seasons like moat people the set designs and the introduction of the Narrow Gauge railway. BTW when u mentioned the Arlsdale engines names u said Arry and Bert don't u mean Bert and Rex?.
I always nickname Season 4 "The narrow gauge engines season" because over 50% of this season are narrow gauge engines episodes. This season has also the best model work.
