  • This video talks about basic segment routing and compares it with MPLS.
Label forwarding in segment routing has come to the next level where we don't need any extra protocol like RSVP or LDP to distribute labels, IGPs like ISIS and OSPF have given this capability.
I will talk about the label forwarding technique differences in MPLS and Segment routing.
Additionally, it also has configurations on Cisco IOS-XE and XR routers.

Can you create a video configuring segment-routing mpls and bgp evpn

Segment Routing is MPLS. The difference with SR is that labels are exchanged with ISIS or OSPF, and the prefix SID which is global instead of locally assigned labels.
    Nevertheless good job.

what system requirements did you need for this lab and what did you set it up on? Each XRv 9000 needs 12GB minimum, is that correct?

Yes you need very good RAM for this router , I have a 64 GB Dell Optiplex Ubuntu Machine. I was a little hesitant spending money on this kind of machine but trust me it is totally worth if you like to do lab at home. Thanks

Hi Touliver, Since you are student I am not sure what is your level of familiarity with Cisco products but if you have some basic knowledge of routers and it's configuration then you can probably make an account on cisco dcloud and do some introductory SR-MPLS labs like this one : dcloud2-sng.cisco.com/content/demo/299044?returnPathTitleKey=content-view . You have to create dcloud account for this, it should be free. Apart from this in case you want to check out the current trends on SR mpls please follow this site www.segment-routing.net/ . This site has very good content and also few demos.
