Thank you for this very useful video. I have been puzzling for months on how to remove the centre display without damaging the dashboard. I successfully removed mine and was able to re-sweat several soldered joints on the PCB's and the display now works fine!
Brought a new unit from ebay with help from your video changed in no time at all bit fiddly getting the screws in but successful cost of new unit 74 pounds well worth the money
Perfect! All the info that i needed. Thank you!
A helpful and clear video; Appreciated.
Thanks LeadFoot TV 🤩
Thanks for help ;)
Thanks for the informations
The car will be like new when it's finished. Loads of little niggling jobs getting done. 👍
Thanks for the video. My CZ2 is suffering from the same problem. I notice that you've changed the stereo. Did you lose the trip computer functionality or is there a way to keep the trip computer working?
Hey man which switch is exactly from this I want to check it first that ?
Thank you very much. I did the same job today and it worked fine. I had no new display for changing but i used an electronic contacts cleaner spray. Now it is working fine and I hope it will for long.
For my future reference, u cleaned the board/s? Or the contacts of the loom connectors? Or everything?
@@gregansen544 it didn't work long. It is off and on every now and then. I think i will change it...
@@modicat3ignoto383 just resolder it, it should work again
Super helpful, thanks very much. I will be getting to this. Was the replacement effective in your case (hope so)?
Yeah has worked perfectly since 🙂
Thank you...brill
No problem, glad it helped 😊
Tks i would like to add
I opened the unit, soldering iron ready...in my opinion the backlight contacts and the 2 multi pronged connectors either end required cleaning which i did and voila bingo a result...
So i have a 2009 cz1 and mine just has a divot where the clock goes.... Uum, is it still possible to fit the display there? Will i also have the cable there that connects to the display?
I think i will open up the plastic shell and see if theres any wires that i can do that with, but can anyone confirm if its possible to do, i dont really wana risk breaking anything..
What tools do you need exactly? Sorry, watched the video but not sure what the twisty torx thing is. Is that just a T20 torx screwdriver? New to all of this, facing the same issue lol.
Thanks
Yeah it's just a T20 torx, you can use a socket or whatever you have
