They all reanimated their dead animals...but Victor had done so purely out of love. The others' primary motivation was to outdo their classmates and win the science fair, so their subjects, err..."came back wrong," so to speak.
I don't think all of them came out completely wrong. Colossus the mummy hamster seemed to not mind being held by his original owner. Indeed i would say that of all the kids it was Colossus child that seemed to have loved his pet enough that it came out knowing him. Unlike the other children who didn't love the animals they had.
@@Quetzalcoatl_Feathered_Serpent Toshiaki apparently loved his pet turtle Shelley, but his envy and big sense of competition probably ruined the experiment. And, also, the giant turtle is a obvious reference to Gamera/Kaijus/Godzilla.
@@nic.k_o Also in japan the turtle is a symbol of durability and force It makes sense .
@@nic.k_o my only problem is that the Kaiju is named Shelley, I get it is a reference to Mary Shelley who wrote the book Frankenstein, and also a turtle pun. But there is no way a Japanese kid would give his own pet a name like that.

I think the movie explains that Victor was the only one who put his heart into reviving someone he loved. Everyone else just wanted to zap em with lightning.

Thats Tim Burton though. He loves creating his monster characters apart of his normal characters. He loves combining the two and thats how his movies always become a hit! He puts the normal with the strange and thats how you get great Tim Burton movies! He's been one of my favorite directors since the "Nightmare before Christmas"!!!! :)

when i first saw this movie i was like "now kids get to experience stuff from back at the old days"
I think it's because his original Frankenweenie short was in black and white. Also this is pretty much a homage to the old black and white films. Many scenes were told in visual and music only, and the nice homage to Japanese giant monsters film that were filmed black and white back then.

I just saw the movie today! I loved it! I thought it was really good!! I am not going to say much about it not to ruin it for those who do want to see it; but, all I can say is that. Tim Burton does a lot of his animation in color. I wonder what made him what to do one just in black and white.
