Wow, Adam Parrish Wainwright. Ladies and gentlemen, just when you thought the 41-year-old from Brunswick, Georgia and GREATEST pitcher in baseball history couldn't get any more LEGENDARY !!! #12in23
I love the Cards!! I've loved them my whole life!! Tried and true, diehard fan since 1978 and will be long after I'm 6 ft under!! And man, that smile on Waino's face just made it that much better!! How blessed we are to have such an awesome organization with the St. Louis Cardinals!!! GO CARDS!!!!!!!!!!!
He talked about that during an interview that is why he slowed down. once he heard his voice he was very nervous and slowed down. Which in turn you should do to make sure you hit the notes vs what others do when they get nervous they tend to wanna speed up.
I will say if you sing on a mic like that it’s a lot different than singing in the bathroom. You can’t hear yourself so you can’t hit pitch correctly. Wainwright def can slay.
Idolo de la fanaticada de San Luis. Excelente ser humano. Merecido. Ojala tenga un gran año de despedida y de paso el No hitter que tanto se le ha negado.
@@davidebrownstl Lmao I used to sing in a band. He was flat and pitchy at times, but he's doing something he's never done before - singing in front of 47,000 people. You could hear the nerves in his voice. It also seemed like the guitarists were waiting on Adam to set the tempo, and Adam was waiting on the guitarists to set the tempo. So it started out kind of slow and awkward. But they found their rhythm, and he certainly started to sound better as the song went on. Even despite a few rough notes, he has a great tone and texture to his voice; he just needs to work on finding his range. I think he could have benefited from singing the Anthem a half step higher (or maybe even a full step). Singing in front of people is harder than it looks; it's also very hard to hear yourself and course-correct. He wasn't wearing an earpiece, so he couldn't hear himself as well out of the monitors as would have been optimal. Given that he's an amateur singer who had to sing in front of thousands of people (and literally millions more watching on TV), I'd say he did an excellent job. And you can trust that I know what I'm talking about - I played a show with Grammy award-winning drummer Thomas Pridgen, so I do know what good music sounds like ☺️
This was fun, I laughed, big surprise. What is sad is how many people actually think he is a great singer. Those who do really, really, really, really need to get out more.
I absolutely love that Waino sang the anthem, but please stop kidding yourselves: the surprise performance was funny, not good. Again, it was really cool for baseball that this happened, but there's no need for delusion.
Better job than a lot of so-called “artists” that sing it these days. Everyone wants to over sing it. He sang it the way it should be sung. Awesome job, Waino!
Even a life long Cubs fan can gladly admit that he knocked that right outta the park!!!!
I love the players surprised reactions

Mr. Mittens, Waino is great, but best of all time? Im sorry, he's nowhere close
He’s not the greatest pitcher of all time! One of the greatest pitchers for the Cardinals though!
What a surprise when it was announced! So happy I was there to see it!!
From a reds fan this give me chills
Well since he couldn't pitch the start of the game he still got to open the season with a bang
WAINO! got a voice for singing a inspiration for all Cards fan on and off the field
Nice going Waino, love you!! 👏❤
It’s was so awesome he did that
OMG, I just watched this 6-25-23. Adam did a fantastic job! Wonderful!!!
Took a lot of guts! Heartfelt! Way to crush it Adam!
Man my schoolmate & football teammate always had a unique way of singing. Proud of him!!!
#garedterrors #gata
I love this so much❤. One of the best ever National Anthems sang at any ballgame! Waino is genuinely smiling inside and out.
WOW!! He has a great voice! Great job Waino!!
❤ the teammates reactions!

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
That was really impressive! I wonder how nervous he was. Like, obviously he's used to performing in front of large crowds, but not like this!

Thank you Sir!!!!❤
From the players' reactions, he apparently threw all of us a curve by singing the anthem, and acapella, at that!
He had 2 guitars accompanying him.
Evidently you're "wholly unaware" of what a cappella means.

AWESOME job, Waino!!
Good job Adam!

Nice job Waino!!!
He killed it. And anyone who says otherwise is wrong.
He did! It's pretty impressive.
Very Impressive!!! Especially being Waino⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️⚾️👍💯
You really need to get out and listen to music

Damn! Whose chopping onions? Hell of a job, Waino! 😭
I know Uncle Charlie was not fond of that version due to the timing/vocal issues, but check out his "One Day they Won't" song.
Good job
LOL!
😭
Go cards boo cubs
This was fun, I laughed, big surprise. What is sad is how many people actually think he is a great singer. Those who do really, really, really, really need to get out more.
For an untrained singer, he did well. He was probably more nervous and conscious of the crowd than he has been in years.
I absolutely love that Waino sang the anthem, but please stop kidding yourselves: the surprise performance was funny, not good. Again, it was really cool for baseball that this happened, but there's no need for delusion.
🤢
Let’s not kid ourselves here-this was not a good rendition. It was cool that he did it, but take it for what it was: A below-average rendition.
He did a great job 👏!
