Not a fan belt question- is there Za quick way to check transducer box integrity on 503 Rotax? Or- if you have spark to all 4 plugs(grounded). Are the transducers good? How about a video ohming out the transducer leads. Thanks.

Love your content. What oil do you recomended for the 503? Personally what oil do you use in your 503?

Thank you for your kind comment.
The topic oil recommendations can and will be debated with great enthusiasm by some pilots. Everyone uses their favourite and best oil ever made!
Personally I use and recommend to my customers “Castrol Super Snowmobile 2T” Canadian stock #0017442 in 1 litre bottle. Perfect for 503 / 582 premix or injection. It is easy to acquire too! Napa, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, the list goes on. Happy flying!

Hi John. Wondering if you have ever done a points to cdi conversion on a 532 engine? I have a Nippon Denso cdi from a sled that apparently will work but there are whispers about needing to re-key the flywheel??

I have completed points to cdi conversions on 503’s. Relocating the flywheel keyway is definitely required.

take note washer orientation at 4:38 min not obvious, will damage the fan if wrong direction.....doh! isn't there something we can put on the sheave to keep it from rusting?

There’s no additive that I know of to protect the pulleys from corrosion. Regular usage won’t let the corrosion build up.

Do you have any advice on how to change the fan bearings? Thanks. Andy.

Hi Andy, good suggestion for video. The fan housing must be removed from the engine and the bearings pushed out after heating the housing around the bearing. Observe and position the bearings in the same relationship (or depth) into the housing.
