its made for rapid escape, the point of the skid isnt to be a place to lower it from, but an actual launch slide for it to free fall into the water from

Capt...klo masuk life boat apa kita hrs pakai life jacket...???maaf nanya...dan bila kita mau lower life boat secara manual perlukah kita tuk mengunakan tali bantu atau pasengger line...maaf capt bertanya...biar paham...thanks

1.haruskah pakai lifejacket saat masuk ke lifeboat:
Jawabannya adalah tergantung dari lifeboat dan company manual menyatakan seperti apa.
Biasanya manual freefall lifeboat menyatan untuk lepas lifejacket saat peluncuran.
Beda hal dengan gravity type lifeboat yg wajib selalu pakai lifejacket.
2.Painter line digunakan untuk latihan saja saat penurunan lifeboat dengan davit arm.
Di manual lifeboat pasti disarankan untuk tidak memasang painter line jika akan melakukan peluncuran.

​@Kym Santisteban 5:11 is called release jack. On the right hand side is for normal operation and the left one is for emergency arrangement

Showing a crew mustering at a Free fall Lifeboat wearing SOLAS Lifejackets is questionable. Put a warning there “Crew will not embark the lifeboat wearing these lifejackets.” It is important.

No Regulation. Knowledge. Wearing a SOLAS Lifejacket is a lot of bulk around your neck. When the lifeboat hits the water, it will be bad. You want your head solidly back against the headrest, without that lifejacket in the way.@@achellsuez

This video was meant to be a ship specific when i served in that vessel. So all procedures were strictly referred to official operational manual provided by the maker and company policies.
In fact, if you watch this video fully, the life jacket was not used inside the boat and during lowering.
