- In this video, I try out 4 different antennas on my handheld CB.
I was shocked at the results friom the second half of the video when I herd the results.

Nice video James, looks to me like the telescopic achieves the best results. Just a shame it’s the most awkward to use. Often the way though in radio, convenience comes at a cost as you’ll know! Great video mate

The laws of physics don't change - the closer to the length of a quarter wave (2.7 meters on 11 meters) the better. Shorter antennas with more loading to make up for the lack of length = more loss, and will perform poorly

Yes. Although he said Lichfield I think it was just this side of Lichfield so it’s not that far. I think I have spoken to that chap previously. I’m happy with the range. Was a good contact. 👍
@@Shack-time I recently bought one of these units and only just began to test it out with the stock antenna. Decent results so far with limited testing.
If the portable hasn't any problem (bad rf shielding) , the audio as no relation with the antenna😊😊.

Well it’s better than the stick antenna but unfortunately the telescopic is the better out of the few I tested.
