Within 5 years bedford commercial vehicles would be dead and the name would be gone by the early 90s

And that's exactly what happened. In 1986 they stopped all truck van and coach production, then gradually replaced Bedford by introducing the Vauxhall name to the existing vans line-up i.e Astravan, Astramax, Midi, Rascal and Brava badged pickup then by the 90's retired the Vauxhall named Bedford van range altogether as Vauxhall started badging Renaults starting with the Renault Master based Vauxhall Arena model.

Good video. I remember these Vehicles well, pretty much everywhere at the time. All the models featured with upgrades improved their looks with the exception of the HA van which even in 1983 looks dated. Unfortunately just not enough to keep on top of sales when compared with European and Swedish Vehicles coming into the UK. Even Ford couldn’t compete so Bedford had no chance.
