  • @zzo28
    @zzo28 Před 4 lety +1

    1. hot water and brass brush ,circular motions.
    2. If dry , use cca 500 and 1000grid paper , brush with knife edge , "crepe brush" ! & brass brush .
    3.wash with hot water and brass brush (circular motions)
    4. If dry ... crepe brush and brash brush
    5. Color renovator (blk...)
    4. crepe brush+ brass brush to restore naps after renovator again , crepe brush is good for restore naps , brass brush make nice satin gloss .
    Crepe brush is more usefull .
    5. Use lighter to burn some longer naps after brass brush.
    6. Brush with dast brush (pig hair or similiar) ..
    & after every use.
    7. Dont buy theese things with suede and nubuck.

    do you think dampening the wheel with luke warm water, then using the brush simulataneously scrubbing it with a hairdryer would have been better?

  • @eric0w
    @eric0w Před 6 lety +4

    You need to get some suede cleaner foam spray... they work very well combined with brushing

    Damn, all this time I thought you were using the leather version, when actually you're using the suede version haha. Good video though, the same thing is happening with my Sparco R215 wheel, although it's nowhere near as bad as yours. Unfortunately this is always going to happen for us sim racers, unless you want to feel like a douche and wear gloves.

    What about all the dirt and grim that has matted the alcantara (synthetic suede) down? Did you clean that off at all? If you do you will see how disgusting steering wheels get.

    I've got a G29 Wheel atm can i just buy your wheel and unscrew mine and screw the new one in and will it be alot better?

    • @benconrad85
      @benconrad85  Před 7 lety

      You're going to need to buy an adapter if someone makes one for the G29. Also with a larger diameter wheel you're going to have more leverage so it will effect the strength of your FFB. The T500RS is powerful enough where that doesn't effect it much.

    Is this a 325 or a 345 steering wheel??

  • @SneakCleaners519
    @SneakCleaners519 Před 9 měsíci

    You have no idea how to clean suede lol and a suede eraser is a GREAT tool. That first brush is a cleaning tool not a maintenance tool. You have to use a brush first too clean off loose dirt. The multi tool you have is great. But that’s not to restore the nap. Never apply that much pressure on suede. You didn’t do this restoration the right way, but you tried you made a video and you learn some thing. if you have to do it again research the steps
    But at least you’re not talking like a suede professional. You should watch some videos on how to use the tools right. Thanks for the watch regardless.

    I'd be thinking to soak it in alcantara cleaner overnight first .get it real wet with the stuff.
