Rohit's innings was absolutely fantastic but this sort of a batting you can expect from any good Indian batter as they are very used to of playing on such substandard strips. SKY also played equally good and so did Rahul. So no big deal.
English batsman mostly play with open face of the bats. Their wickets are real bouncy and ball doesn't dodge with its ups and down. Sporting wickets always favor batter and bowler equally. That's why English players very seldom use bat and pad together. Shami took best advantage of this flaw and captured wickets. The 2nd darwback for English team is their poor abilities of reading spinners. Kuldeep and Jadeja proved too dangerous for them. The 3rd worst thing English team did is they got out some 15 overs before. No matter you win or loose, you should learn to stick to wicket for full 50 overs quota.
A challenging pitch doesn't mean substandard pitch. I see this mostly from subcontinent people only. Rivalry with India is fine but nobody complained about pitch here. Not even England. India has different types of pitches because it's a big country. And if English batters have a gap between bat and pad, it's a lame excuse. And a technical flaw. In India, you're taught to don't keep gap between those two.
