Scarlett O’Hara’s red dress
Scarlett O'Hara's curtain lol
My favourite gown was worn by Deborah Kerr , in the King and I, her Dance scene, truly beautiful, 💕
That gown is beautiful! 😍
Agree
#1 dress on my list would be Scarlet O’Hara’s dark red velvet and feather dress she was made to wear to Ashley Wilkes’ birthday party to show everyone that she was not respectable. The dress was fabulous. And who could forget Scarlet’s dress made from green velvet curtains and spoofed on the Carol Burnett show’s skit “Went with the Wind”.
Audrey Hepburn's Ascot race outfit (and the stunning evening gown) in My Fair Lady. But there are so many amazing looks in that movie.
My favorite dress is the red dress Julia Roberts wears in Pretty Woman.
Grace Kelly's black and white Edith Head dress or the green and white suite in "Rear Window". Along with the Black and white ball gown in "Sabrina".
I Would have Marilyn Monroe’s white halter subway dress from “the 7 Year Itch” as more iconic than the pink dress or include both.
There is no more famous dress than the white dress from The Seven Year Itch. To not include it at all, let alone to not have it at #1, is a major oversight.
I’m in my 70s and the most memorable movie dress of all time for me was the party dress Audrey Hepburn wore in Sabrina with the absolutely incredible pattern. Everything about that dress was perfection from the silhouette to the craftsmanship and the way it jumps out at you from the screen. Truly an unbelievably beautiful dress.
Best ever dress in Cinema is Audrey Hepburns black dress in the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
Dorothy’s blue and white gingham dress in The Wizard of Oz.
Marilyn Monroe’s white halter dress with the billowing skirt in The Seven Year Itch.
Scarlet O’Hara’s green curtain dress in Gone With The Wind.
Doris Day’s outfits from Pillow Talk and Lover Come Back.
Gone with the wind costumes but if I choose one it’s the green curtain dress Audrey Hepburn in Sabrina when she comes to the party in her black and white strapless gown
Best iconic dress is breathtaking Hedy Lamarr as Delilah in the gorgeous peacock gown , in Samson & Delilah !
Im glad Glinda's dress was acknowledged
My favorite dress is the Red dress Debbie Reynolds wore in "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" 🥰 I've wanted that Red Dress 🥰Since the first moment I saw her dancing in it 😍 I also love Marilyn in her Pink dress and every dress in "Gone With the Wind" 🥰
Grace Kelly’s blue gown in To Catch a Thief.
Audrey Hepburn's gown in "Sabrina" (1954) is absolutely stunning and fits her like a glove! But have you seen Doris Day in "Do Not Disturb" (1965)? She rocks a form-fitting orange sequin dress with a matching sequin-lined coat-total showstopper! ✨👗
My favorite ones are Scarlett's from Gone with the Wind. I love that green and white dress she wore for the barbeque that was at Tara. Love the book and the movie!
OBVIOUSLY Scarlet O’Hara’s red dress in Gone With the Wind should have been on this list…Also the ballgown in the dream sequence from Labyrinth.
My favorite is Grace Kelly's wedding dress in High Sociey or Claudette Colbert's black dress in Midnight.
What about gone with wind.
considered for sure…would make the top 20 haha
Woah...I'm all in for Margaret Hamilton rocking that "Little Black Dress". Everything about her character was 👌PERFECTION. the look is indelible.
Michelle Pfeifer in Scarface - how did this not make the list?
So right about Atonement! The dress was the last happy moment in the movie and Kiera rocked it.
Best ever dress is the low cut metallic Vera West gown worn by Zita Johann in 1932's The Mummy. She looks fantastic in it and the design is timeless.
That's gorgeous!
It was a bird in Carries veil not a feather. She even says it in the movie!!
omg your so right! gotta rewatch soon.
Scarlet O’haras red velvet birthday party gown. Absolutely stunning. Princess Diana’s pearl covered Elvis dress. So chic. The black dress that Rosemary Clooney wore in White Christmas. Absolutely beautiful. Too many to list.
Audrey Hepburn dress in Sabrina is my favorite
Here are my picks (and no cartoons allowed!)
10- Deborah Kerr’s ball gown in “The king and I”
9- Marilyn’s white halter dress from “The Seven Year Itch”
8- Grace Kelly’s black and white cocktail dress from “Rear Window”
7- Dorothy’s blue gingham dress from “The Wizard of Oz”
6- Glinda’s dress from the same film
5- Rita Hayworth’s evening gown from “Gilda”
4- Julia Roberts’ red dress from “Pretty Woman” 9:36
3- Bette Davis’ 3/4 length cocktail dress from “All About Eve”
2- Audrey Hepburn’s Givenchy gown from “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, oh, to Hell with it, EVERYTHING she wore in every movie she made!
1- (tie) Vivien Leigh’s red velvet gown as well as her tattered calico dress in the cotton field at Tara, both Gone With The Wind”
All time untouchable iconic dress in its own universe- the green velvet curtain dress
Honorable Mentions - 9:36 9:36 Gloria Swanson’s business suit in Sunset Boulevard”
Leslie Caron’s white ball gown from “Gigi”
Bette Davis’ polka dot traveling suit, straw hat and spectator pumps from the gangplank scene in “Now, Voyager”and Liz Taylor in the gold Cleopatra dress.
It is all Hollywood, just think "Dolce Vita" and" Conversation piece.".. Europe has a word for beauty as well.
How about that black dress in "A tall blond man in a one black shoe"?
I only like a few in his list. Some of them don't even compare to real cinematic dresses worn by true iconic goddesses. Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Rita Hayworth, Debbie Reynolds, Elizabeth Taylor, ... many of Ginger Roger's gowns...
My favorite is Audrey Hepburn's dress in My Fair Lady as Eliza Doolittle for the ball
I guess music videos doesn't count for cinematic clothing. I love many of Shania Twain's video costumes: From this Moment On gown, That Don't Impress Me Much outfit; Man, I Feel Like a Woman black bustier, black hat and black thigh-high boots ... you get the idea!
Audrey and Marilyn. The others don't come near........
let me know some of your personal favs! I know everybody’s list would be different
The best - Giselle' enchanted wedding dress
Jeanette Macurdy? Nope, Jeanette MacDonald wore Glinda's dress in San Francisco. And not only did you get her name wrong, you got it wrong while her name was actually on the screen. And really, only one dress from the 30s? Nothing from The Women? None of the stunning gowns Ginger Rogers wore? None of the gowns Joan Crawford wore? Or Greta Garbo? Or the fabulous gowns Adrian designed for 1938's Marie Antoinette?
just making sure you were paying attention ;) thanks for watching
Right? What about some of the gowns worn by Jean Harlow or Marlene Dietrich? The gowns in the 1938 version of Marie Antoinette and the Sofia Coppola version? The first Pirates of the Caribbean movie?
I love Morticia Addams black gown. My choice does not count as it's not cinema.
I admire Vivienne Westwood's collections, but I did not like Carrie's wedding dress.
I know they intended to give her something completely over the top, but my fav dress in her bridal magazine shoot (you know the bit of the movie where we see a cameo of Patrick Demarchelier) is the Oscar De La Renta gown. That was pure glam and not a puffy skirt in sight.
You have a taste for low grade camp
it’s the best!
Absolutely!! Only 3 were classy. Keira Knightly's, Audrey Hepburn's and Marilyn's. The rest were tacky and fugly.
@@purpleroom101 where’s YOUR list love?

Jeanette Mc Donald!!!!
I know. All of a sudden, I was in an I-CARLEY episode!
Pronounced Raf not Ralph.
Actually it’s “rayf”
so at first I thought the Katniss dress was crazy but you convinced me!!
I came here to say Scarlett O’Hara’s red dress should be #1 but many have beaten me to it. However you REALLY need to explore the Golden Age of Hollywood more. You simply cannot top gowns by Adrian. Check out the fashion show sequence in The Women, and the entire movie is OXYGEN. Edith Head designs are also incredible. And I have to give a nod to Audrey Hepburn’s voluminous gown by Givenchy in Sabrina and the black satin strapless gown worn by Rita Hayworth in the movie Gilda when she sings Put The Blame On Mame. How did it stay up? It is similar in style to Marilyn Monroe’s Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend dress but is far superior to it.

Audrey Hepburn won.
Atonement? You can't be serious. It looked like a poorly made slip!! Better choice would be Kim Bassinger's white gown in LA Confidential or Greer Garson's evening gown in Random Harvest!
Greer Garson's dress was as glamorous as she was! 😍🤩
Dude you need to watch more movies?
Indeed. He knows practically nothing of classic movies. That is WHERE Hollywood glamour came from!
Elizabeth Taylor in her slip....!!!! Disney.... awful
