E Bike Trip - Torrevieja to La Zenia and Playa Flamenca on the Orihuela Costa in Cost Blanca, Spain

- We needed another battery for one of our e-bikes, bought from Decathalon in the La Zenia Boulevard shopping centre. We bought the bikes in April 2017 and now both batteries will be replaced. So after breakfast, the 7-mile trip is made after securing stock at the store. On the way back they meet with Steve and Allison from Derby in Playa Flamenca.
They arrive home late after the 20 miles round trip for a beer.

Hi Sheena, Thanks for watching and commenting. We do try to stay off the main roads whenever possible, but the cycle tracks are great and there are plenty of them. There are also a lot of wide and quiet roads where you can feel safe also. All the best Mike and Yvonne.

Hi Gweedoreone, Yes, it gets dark quite early now and it also gets light later in the morning. The days are shorter in UK than in Spain. Sunrise today here 08.12am sunset 19.24pm. In the UK sunrise 07.35am sunset 18.09pm. Only about half an hour difference in it but creates a little more warmth....

Some great drone footage of the waves. Next time you're at La Zenia it might be worth doing a tour video, I bet there's lots of people within 30 or 40km that haven;t actually been there. Great video again guys.

Hi Millie, Yes us old 'uns can cycle a fair old distance, having said that, that's about as far as the battery will stand before it runs out of steam. Yes you definitely see a lot more on the bikes, it's great fun.
Yes the channel is doing great, we are well chuffed. We got to a 1000 in August then now, 3 months later we have another 2400. I don't know what happened but I think CZcams do push you when you're doing everything right, like answering comments, not breaking any copyright rules and generally being a good boy for CZcams etc. You will soon catch up I'm sure because you production values are good and that's what I think makes the difference. Love your videos, presently looking at property via Web to possibly purchase there. Daya Nueva. Don't think I've seen yous in this area. But certainly your videos have been very welcoming and informative to view. Interesting to see the area. We previously lived in Tenerife. Beautiful place. But property way to expensive. Never been to mainland Spain. So might sound silly to a few, that we would think about buying there. Keep up the videos. Trevor

We did look in Daya Nueva when we first came to Costa Blanca South. I remember looking at a house there that came with a car but it was just a bit too quiet for us. All the best Mike and Yvonne.
P.S. you may know this already guys…but last few times we wanted smallish items from media markt they weren’t in stock,although they were displaying in store. …both times they said to order online and pick up in store… or delivery……and other larger items like TVs you collect from a red door at the back of the store which was quite off putting the 1st time but obviously that is where their warehouse is…best wishes Alan & Cher 😎🥳

Interesting that Decathlon in the U.K. sell
the e bikes for the same price in pounds £849 versus the same figure in Euros in Spain.

Hi Archie, It's a DJI Mini 2 sub 250gms drone. It still has to be registered in Spain and you will still need to pass the EASA A1 and A3 test for flying in Europe. It's not too difficult so good luck if you go ahead. Best wishes, Mike and Yvonne.

Hi David. Yes, it has been very wet today the storm was directly above and lasted for a good couple of hours heavy rain etc. I think though no worse than the last one in September. Our street was like a river for a while but now it's clear. If you had no issues last time it was no worse. The roundabout by The Hyperber Supermarket ant the Street going down to Carrafour from there was badly hit as usual. The water was quite deep at one point but now clearing. I hope yours is ok.
@@BetweenTheLakes oh yes always floods there as many parts do. If it was no worse it should be fine, but you can just never tell. The U.K. last days has experienced some wild weather with wind and rain. I think it’s going to be thing nowadays with water levels and poor drainage, there just is no where for the water to go. Mind you, I have seen the sea front in Torrevieja flooded before now, so it’s not all sun, sea and sangria as many people believe, but then again I have sat in the beach before on Christmas Day with bright sun and fairly warm. You just don’t know.
Stay safe and don’t swim in the dirty water. Have fun.
Do u ever cycle round Punta Prima Roundabout ?
Hi faolteam, we are not brave enough to attempt going around Punta Prima roundabout during the day. We think it's far too busy and dangerous for a couple of old uns like us. I've not seen many cyclists go around it as there is a perfectly serviceable cycle track which is a far safer option. Thanks for watching, all the best Mike and Yvonne.

Hi Julia, Yes isn't it strange that they come when you are not around and don't really come when you are here. That's how we have found it anyway. This time we found two, one in the empty bin and one in the bathroom. They were disposed of in the usual way...I weigh 20 stone....lol

How is the weather in January in T. usually? I ve rented an apartment for next January
We think it's the coldest month of the year but some days can be warm and sunny. It can get cold at night so some form of heating in the house is required. All the best Mike and Yvonne.
