Hi there! I am Joseph.
I have been an immigrant / expat living in central Portugal along with my beautiful girlfriend Mariana for seven years now.
Together Mariana, my father Clinton and myself, would like to show you a bit of the daily goings on around our Portuguese farm / homestead / smallholding and all of the work we are doing whilst renovating, starting building projects, working with our livestock, DIY and trying to grow our little families own food!

Nice! I would say negotiate a fee for each property sold through these videos. I would consider it fair for the homesellers pay for this instead of patreon. Anyway it's just a thought which others dont have to agree with.

Hi Joseph, I was happy to see your new video pop up in my notifications :) Am I correct in thinking you could knock the old house down and build a new property in its place on that 120sqm footprint? Or do you literally need to "extend" it: as in keep the original old building there and add to it? Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but I‘m not familiar with Portuguese planning rules!
Congrats on walking again withiut crutches, Joe! Good to not over exert your healing body so you just go at the pace that suits you. Back injuries need TLC. Great to see cutie Chlo Chlo, mommy Mariana, your dad, and Lloyd out and looking so well.
I love how the trees on this property ar so well maintained and ready for the next owner to harvest later in the year. Tho the house is a ruin, the potential to make it liveable on top of of the land and its may water sources seems a good deal for the asking price. Best of luck to the next owner.
Think you might ever film a before and after if any the rehabilitated dwellings you've shown? That'd be super interesting to see how new owners redid their tiny farm houses -- did they ho for a rustic rebuild, a modern one, a green update? Maybe 2 or 3 or half a dozen renovated properties would give a goid idea of what can be accomplished out there. Also, it might be nice to see you include any of the local builders you connected new owners giving a wave to us or edit in snapshots of them in action building/finishing. You're family home is the #1 model... it'd be neat to see how smaller or dilapidated farm house can turn out.

Anyone who is from outside the EU and does not have rights to an EU passport will need a visa of course
Why did they use Round-Up ? Gras around the vines and olives all turned orange😢

Yeah I’m going to start doing this! I always just assumed that people would know I pick and choose the properties to film that can be legally lived in / built upon… But of course in reality I should say it 😊

Hi Joseph ,thanks for sharing such wonderfull properties and we were planning to move Portugal but unfortunately we missed Golden Visa chance.. Do you know what else oppurtunites we can try there as i know golden visa finished (i am from Turkey and we are 3 person- me,wife and 18y.o son)

Thanks for the info you put out on your videos, but on this I don’t see the access road and entrance and no mention of price?
Check the video again 😊 Price was on the screen three times, 50k entrance was at the beginning also where I pointed and mentioned the entrance track

My sheep? they have access to ponds and drinking troughs fed by springs around the land 😊
Why is the grass dead about the house, trees and the well? It looks like roundup, do they spray that there?
I have not seen a single farmer who does not do this in Portugal. And there have been chemicals sprayed from the sky for decades as well (seems to be the government), not sure why it is still going on.

Nice land. Seems so many properties are split with the building on or close to the boundary. Or do Portuguese tend to build on the boundary, if so why?
The current owner likes to use herbicide?
This farm specifically is because it’s two properties that the owner has for sale, just makes sense to film them together as I am sure whoever buys it would want both 😊
we lived in Portugal for many years in the country side and yes - every single farmer uses chemicals despite the scientific proof of it being extremely harmful to humans and other living organisms. There is no or very little understanding of organic farming in most countries in Europe.

Joseph hi, is there a law across Portugal that states that a lot owner can extend the existing footprint of a house (on urban land) by 120% (=60 sq.m /50 sq.m) from 50sq. m to 120 sq.m? And then add another floor on top? I am just wondering ... Thanks!

Do you mean on every house? Because that is a definite no, some places would be able to do this though of course! :)

Hello! The footprint is allowed to be extended to 120sqm, but this can be two storey up to 240sqm

It's nice that you have cherries and sheep in your farm. What predators are in your area that want to eat your sheep? Wolves, mountain lion, bear or Lynx?
