I was so sure it was gonna die there but I guess Zetris is good at making sure the pieces don't get stuck.

Puyo: counters it with a 6 chain
Margin time is 0, the number of points needed to send a single garbage starts at 3/4 of normal and is being reduced by a quarter every 16 seconds, this adds up very quickly, chain multiplier alone on a 6 chain is 96 so if the game has been running a while you could see how it would add up. Especially given the multipliers already applied to each previous link.

4wide strat is a terrible strat against professional puyo players because it gives them more time to make huge chains and fight back

The puyo v Tetris matchup is stupid. The garbage ratios make no sense. At 3:15, the 4 chain canceled out two rocks on Kuro’s side, and then the 6 chain and 7 chain only sent ~8 lines of garbage each? This game is weird.

Margin time is set to 0, in Puyo, when margin time is reached the target points are multiplied by 3/4 then every 16 seconds this is done again until the target points equal 1 (1 garbage for every point), they start at 70, so if you ignore any carry-over points, group, colour, chain or other bonuses, this means that normally you'd need to clear 7 Puyo for 1 garbage, but after 14 cycles of margin time, the same 7 Puyo would send 70 garbage, add in the multipliers you get for large groups, multiple colours, or chain length and it makes a huge difference, if margin time is the standard 96 seconds, you have to survive over a minute and a half for it to start making a difference, so starting with reduced target points and having it immediately start reducing every 16 seconds makes it much easier for the Puyo player, a huge handicap for the AI.
