Extremely clearly explained. I was left confused by a different channel's explanations, and you cleared everything up. Well done!

Yeah - you definitely don’t want to learn board game rules from Joe’s Car Repair Channel.

Honestly this game looks really fun, and I'm thinking about preordering it. Also, the title cards made of cards are amazing.

Glad I found this looking for a tutorial for Paperback (2014) - this looks way more fun

Small mistake: Per the instruction manual, when you splay right, only use the symbols on the right edges. When you splay left, only use symbols on left. In the example at 7:05 the cards are splayed left, but the symbols on the right were used. So in this case, only those blocks woulda worked.

Yeah, this video helped SO much. I've been struggling through the rulebook for two days and understand everything so much better now after watching your video. Going to reset everything back to zero and try playing again from scratch. Thanks so much!

I have been waiting for YEARS for someone to explain what the heck "rouge-like" meant! Thank you for that!
Oh, and I just purchased the game and then brought it with me on a trip, so thanks for the teaching video!

    Great video, great teach, thanks!
Also, a minor rules quibble with your visual example, at 7:06 the damage icons are counted from the right side of the top card in a word that is splaying left... you only count the icons on the side of the top card in the direction of the splay, not both sides.

Thanks so much for this! I backed this on KS and am waiting for the shipment. This is exactly what I need to not only learn the game well, but also confirms what fun will be had when it arrives!

Great, Karl! Definitely pop out to the setup section when you get your game … the rulebook makes it feel a bit “oh one more thing” when you’re new, especially on training mode.

@@NightsAroundaTable good to know. Thanks! I also appreciated knowing exactly where the term ‘rogue’ came from.
