    The problem in Nigeria is that few people read books. The so-called politicians, journalists, and individuals do not take joy in reading. Even the guy conducting the interview may not have read the “Chronicles of the Happiest People on Earth” by Honorable Wole Soyinka before sitting down with him for this discussion. If he did, he could have cited some passages in the book to support his questions!

      It's not correct to draw that conclusion. His fictions unlike his non-fictions may not be for Mass audience but the fact that they are still in print around the world shows that they have some appeal, in the classrooms.
