This original example of one of the most sought-after high performance Fords of the Eighties and Nineties was initially retained by Ford for its own use before being sold into private hands in July 1987. More recently, it was rescued from a barn and has had many items replaced since then. It has received a new head gasket, rebuilt head, radiator, new fuel tank, pump and filter, HEL brake lines, Iconi shocks, sports exhaust, new brake calipers, dics and pads. The Diamond Cut wheels have been refurbished and new Yokohama tyres fitted. The Sierra has never been welded and doesn't look to need any. It still features its Dunlop D40 spare tyre and sign-off chalk mark in the boot well from the factory. There's also the original bill of sale too.
The vendor, who has owned it for six years, reports the Cosworth as running well and reliable, with no issues over the 1000 miles it has completed since everything was renewed. Registered in August 1986, it was taken off the road in 1993 by its first owner after Ford due to the costs of trying to insure it. It was hidden on a farm until the vendor rescued it and resurrected it, subsequently spending thousands to return it to the road. Its odometer now shows 63,758 miles and it has an MoT through to April 2025.
Paperwork includes the old style V5, showing Ford Motor Company as the previous keeper, owner's handbook, assorted invoices and MoTs back to 1989. There's also photos of the car, including its barn retrieval, and the 1987 Ford bill of sale.

Great potential. Must be worth £75,000 as is, prior to restoration.
