errata: towards the end of my video I was talking about making a Lungo by adding water to a shot of espresso. My mouth said Lungo but my brain wanted me to say Americano. Lungo is simply running more water through the same grounds that you would normally make an espresso from. An Americano is a shot of espresso with hot water added. Sorry for my brain fart.

Thanks for the video! Any tips on how to change out the beans in the hopper? I like to switch between decaf and regular, but haven't found a way to easily do this if the wrong beans are in the hopper. Thanks!

I hope you didn’t read my reply which I have subsequently deleted. The reason is I was referring to an entirely different machine for some reason. I’m on mobile doing extensive traveling and wasn’t paying close enough attention to what I was doing. So to answer your question, there is no easy way to swap beans.this machine is not really suitable for that. You would have to remove the water reservoir and literally tip the machine upside down to remove any beans remaining in the hopper. Certainly not something you’d want to do on a regular basis.

I wonder if the descaling light comes on after a certain number of coffees have been dispensed or does it actually detect that scaling has occurred? I use only bottled water since our city water always smells of chlorine and I don’t want to be drinking it. I am thinking of having an RO system installed rather than buying water and adding to the plastic waste problem. Thank you.

I know that the empty the puck container light comes on after 10 coffees. I suspect the descale light has a similar timer built in that it just goes on when it thinks it needs to be descaled whether it needs to or not. But why take chances? I'ts easy to descale using White vinegar and water.

I've seen people showing the brew group and the grinder compartment full of moldy grounds. How you solve that?

You solve that by not allowing grounds to remain in the grinder compartment. I’ve had two of these machines over the past four years and have never had any mold in the grinder compartment. The reason I never had any mold is because I follow the suggested cleaning procedure. If you don’t clean out the grounds for days or possibly weeks at a time, you are only asking for trouble. it is a simple 30 second process to remove the drip tray pull out the grounds cup and simply wipe out the interior with a paper towel. I use the machine a lot and I clean it every day.
