Its not that simple. When you break a law in the united states, everyone has a right to a fair trial. Thats why they hold them. All of them will need to see a judge.
A lot of them arent migrant "families" you'd be astounded by the percentage of kidnapped kids that are trafficked across the border. Also just because you have kids doesn't give you the right to break the law.

Oh sure, you can appoint people who directly profit off of keeping these people detained, and detain them in horrific conditions indefinitely, but all that's fine so long as you can point at someone else and say "He started it!"
Who is profiting? It's the law he can't change it and he shouldn't ignore it. If you don't like it, petition Congress to pass immigration reform.

He was Trump's former Secretary of Homeland Security who proposed a lot of the policies regarding these detention centers that people are upset with. He has profited because he used to work for Caliburn International, the corporation that is running these child detention centers. After he left the White House, he went back to Caliburn to join their board of directors, directly profiting off of the policies that he helped set while in office. It's a direct conflict of interests.
And sure, Trump can't snap his fingers and fix it, but he wouldn't even if he could. He prefers it this way... which is why he picked John Kelly in the first place.

People are intentionally being kept in unhealthy conditions and denied medicines, some of them are legal american citizens with documents. Even if you think they should be detained, shouldn't they be treated humanely? Or do you think people deserve to be mistreated, for some reason?
@@Kazner0h The detention centers are underfunded and overwhelmed. I don't think they are intentionally doing harm to anyone. I think most of these companies are trying to make the best out of a bad situation.

Ok, here's one: We weren't separating children from their parents with a 'Zero Tolerance' policy before this administration. Since enforcing that policy, immigration has not been deterred, so we can infer that the policy doesn't work and is cruel for no reason. Given that information, we should stop enforcing the Zero Tolerance policy because the cruelty is unnecessary, which we thankfully have (slowly). However, that cruelty needs to be answered for, as there are children who have gone missing, and there have been direct conflicts of interests that have resulted in this cruelty (John Kelly) and have only benefited from it.
