7 Day Switzerland Tour with SOTC, Overview & Analysis. Did we get value for money?

- Presenting a Summary or an Overview of our 7 day Switzerland tour with SOTC. When you use the services of a travel agency of tour operator you have no way of knowing for sure how the tour is going to be. The travel agency do give you a tour plan or an itinerary and also explain the details, despite this a few questions or doubts does come to one’s mind and you clarify these matters with the agency. Typical questions that come to mind would be:
Are they going to follow the plan? Or will they make compromises after you have paid all the money and have reached the destination?
What kind of accommodation have they arranged?
What kind of food will we get?
What kind of service will we get at the destination?
Will we face any problems or inconveniences?
And many more such questions. So what does one do? The most obvious thing is to talk to those who have taken such trips in the past and learn from their experience. If there is no one to talk to you would search the net and watch CZcams videos before making any financial commitments to the travel agency.
This video addresses the questions and concerns that come to one’s mind what planning a trip, not in the general sense but is specifically about our 7 day group tour of Switzerland with SOTC. We took this tour of Switzerland few months before the Covid-19 pandemic. This was a group tour or call it package tour organized by SOTC in the month of May 2019. It was branded as 7 days Best of Switzerland. We were a group of 48 tourists from various parts of India on this tour. The 7 days include both the day flew from Mumbai and the day we flew back from Milan, Italy; yes our return flight was from Milan.
We flew from Mumbai by Oman Air on May 9, 2019 to Zurich with a three hour halt at Muscat where we changed planes. From Muscat to Zurich, Switzerland was a 7 hour flight. Our return flight was from Milan in Italy on May 15, 2019. We stayed at 3 different hotels for two nights each in Switzerland. This series will show the viewers the three hotels we stayed in, the food we ate, the places we visited and generally the experience we had.

Thank you so much sirji for this elaborate information. We r contemplating between various companies like kesari, Cox and kings, Veena tours and travels etc. But sotc seems to be the most reasonable one and sadly one of the most underrated and possibly the most overlooked.

I don't know about Kesari but I know that Cox & Kings were in the news for the wrong reasons some time ago. Please check reviews before deciding on a tour operator. We approached SOTC because of their good reputation and also because their office address was conveniently located. Many tour operators make promises but do not keep them, you will realize that only after you have started your tour. One lady in our group said that this was her second tour of Switzerland, she repeated Switzerland because she was not satisfied with her earlier tour which she did with some other tour operator. I will once again go on a tour, if everything goes well. The first part of my tour will be independent and the second part will be a group tour with Europamundo, a Spain based tour operator. Europamundo is represented by SOTC in India, so I am once again dealing with SOTC.

Sir, A very fine explanation of a trip, but you have left out a very important factor that is the cost of the entire trip, it would be very beneficial to people like me, who would want to go on a Switzerland only or Switzerland Austria trip.
Thank you Jayaraman. Disclosing the cost was pointless because it changes every year, so does the itinerary. You could check out the SOTC website for details or you could call them up, better still you could meet their staff at their nearest office; I found them very co-operative.
@@AroopBose one of the worst experience with sotc Thomas Cook India as they take full payment n later they allocate the trip to low class vendor n risk my life with insecure situation and when i am asking for action must be taken against such sale person they are saving such people.
@@mohuamallick6341 I am surprised to know that, the two tours we took with SOTC were as per promises made by them, no unpleasant surprises at all. In fact we were very happy with them.
I am toying with the idea of going to UK and 3 cities in Europe, I don't want to take a package tour, this time I want to do it alone.

What is the best months to visit swiss land and what are the things one should look on the swiss tour packege.
Indians prefer to visit Switzerland during summer, mainly the month of May. During this period you will see huge crowds of Indian tourists. You could also go there in June & July. If you are looking for a tour package it would be better if you find out what the tour operators have to offer. Sometimes you get combinations, such as Paris & Switzerland. So check with your tour operator.
How much expenditure was on this 7 days tour sir. I want to know so that we also can plan this with sotc
This tour happened in May 2019, that is 4 years ago just before the pandemic; things have changed since then. The tour itinerary is not the same now. To work out your budget contact SOTC and find out from them or please study their website.
I have a query regarding the visa process, did SOTC takes care of getting you tourist visa of desired EU country (wrt to tour package) without any headaches ? or you have to apply on your own separately ? did you received immigration stamps on your passport on entry and exit of Switzerland just like any regular tourist ?
SOTC helped us in the visa process by making the application on our behalf and fixing the appointment for biometrics with VFS Global. Yes our passports were stamped by immigration when we arrived at Zurich and on exit at Milan when returned to India.

Could you plz share what documents you submitted to sotc from visa point of view? My Schengen visa has been refused so thinking of this customised tour package as I don't want to go through the whole hectic visa process again.
@@bindaasmard664 SOTC had given us a list of documents to be submitted, however I have no access to the list right now since I am travelling, I am not in India now.. Please do an online search to find out. You could also get some useful information from a CZcams channel by the name of Starfish Travel Co.

How much the cost of entire trip?
We took this tour in 2019, just before the world came to know about Covid-19, so it has been four years, therefore what we paid will not be applicable anymore. The tour itinerary is also not exactly the same. Right now they have a 7nights and 8days plan. I would suggest that you check out their website or call them up or simply visit their office for details.

It is entirely upto the particular embassy or consulate to grant visa or refuse. Visa fees are never refunded.

Durgaji you can participate even if you are alone; SOTC or other tour operators have a provision for single persons. Of course you will have to pay a bit more because you will be occupying a hotel room alone. My sister accompanied me for the Switzerland tour with SOTC, unfortunately she passed away in 2021. Therefore I will be travelling to UK alone next month and will also be participating in a group tour of England and Scotland organized by a tour operator, this time it is not SOTC.
Let me also add that during our tour of Switzerland with SOTC we met a lady in our group who was alone. So being alone will not be a problem.
Even I'm alone lady to travel is it safe to travel through sotc if you have good experience please share

SOTC THOMAS COOK INDIA is NOT AT ALL WORTH it! How they fooled around people check in NCH APP! SINCE TWO MONTHS I AM FIGHTING FOR JUSTICE AS SOTC THOMAS COOK INDIA SALE PERSON HAD PUT IN INSECURE SITUATION FOR ALMOST 7 DAYS AND SOTC THOMAS COOK INDIA IS SAVING SUCH PERSON
Although our Switzerland trip with SOTC in 2019 was very good. This year I had a bad experience with them, I lost substantial amount of money.
