DTI is not an easy video topic because one things is performing the sequence itself, another things is the post processing part which so many third part software’s exist. I will try to do as simple as possible to let you know how this can be done along with a specific post processing software.

Hi Bac, currently we have upgraded to XA30, and it seems our overlays do not match up correctly for our DTI (our rads do this in Syngovia)....we have been scanning using LOC (REF) mode using AAlocs for the DTI.....do the scans need to be in fixed for the overlays to work properly during post processing? Thanks
Thanks for the question. I’m not 100% sure because I haven’t tried it on xa platform before. It could be what you mention here. You should try it and see. But during post processing I guess they are using align function inside syngo via?

Bytheway, I use SyngoVia to make DTI post processing images, but there's no adequate option to make DTI applied series(such as MIP ranges...turning around to show other sides) to upload PACS. What's your option to make those DICOM DTI images w/ Neuro3D?
At work our radiologist doesn’t all the post processing. Mostly on syngo via. We radiographers don’t do this.

Do you need additional licensing to be able to do DTI on the magnetom? I’ve been trying to perform a DTI on my scanner, but I have no FA map or tensor box/option

good question. i believe in fmri though. but thats my opinion. there are many papers written about this topic way back in time and still a technique used for many research purposes in this field.

Good question. Never done that. I guess some third part software are available for that.
were you limited to 20 directions on this scan? Can you go up to 30?
I could go higher yes, to 30 for example as you mention.
How do you save a 3D postprocessing DTI that rotates, not only images?
Manually rotate it and save it one by one
I have a crazy question. I had a DTI MRI done of my brain. I had a bad concussion 7 months ago. I am loosing my mind because I am having a ton of crazy symptoms that won't go away. They said there are no focal defects on the DTI gray scale FA map. Does that mean they found absolutely no issues?
I was under the impression that the DTI PROTOCAL looked at all of the fiber tracts to find difuse axon damages in the brain. Any thoughts or input?

Thanks for reaching out. Well MRI is multi parametric which means all the sequences in a specific protocol are useful for answer the clinical question. It’s not easy as do one sequence and you have the right answer. I’m not sure what sequences they did on your brain and of course I am no radiologist. I strongly advice you to talk to your doctor and see what him/her is saying about this, and future planning for your situation.
@@Nguyen_MRI thanks for the help. I had the DTI done to look for difuse damage. We already knew there were no focal defects. So I guess a better question is would grey scale be useful in identifying difuse damage or would fiber tracking color maps be better. I know you aren't a radiologist but it seems you do have some knowledge, so if you have input or advice on which type of mapping might be best for looking for minor difuse damge, it would be much appreciated

It’s dti for the whole brain. So you can do post processing afterwards.
