That's crazy because I'm also a die hard Saints fan that played Fullback because Mike Alstott was my favorite player! I even wrapped my wrists and rocked the elbow pad, dude was a beast!
Man I was thinking the same thing, he was a beast I had him on my fantasy football roster a few times, but he is clearly in mental decline or a CTE type of situation.

Alstott was such a beast. There are no current players like him. Mike truly left EVERYTHING on the field.
Every time we got exhausted in conditioning, my best friend would be like “you know Mike Alstott is tired too, but he’s got a freakin Jeep chained to his back”. I don’t know if he ever really ran around pulling his Jeep for training, but it motivated tf outta me.
Dungy seems like the hard-ass who cares about you as a person, and Gruden is your buddy until you're no longer useful to him.

Dungy built the championship defense. Gruden fixed the offense and made it good enough to win a championship with, along with helping the defense know everything the Raiders would pull in the super bowl. Then everyone saw dollar signs and the team fell apart 🤷🏼♂️ the end. And yes, Alstott was a MONSTER among boys on that field

Alstott gave everything on Sundays. Hope he is well. Shows all of the best players gave everything. Even their health.
Ive always heard from Derrick Brook interviews and Shelton Quarles and some other players that Dungy was like a father figure. He didnt scream or yell at you or curse. He just let them know what he expected and they didnt want to let him down or see disappointment in his eyes. Then along comes Gruden who curses and yells and just the total opposite.
But Gruden was the final piece that got the Bucs the Superbowl win.

@@ChillConservative2k15 they went from 9-7 with Dungy to 12-4 and a super bowl with Gruden in 02. They also went 11-5 in 05, then back to 9-7 in 07 and 08. So they didn't become a dumpster fire. Raiders did though after Grudens raiders team was gone.

Yea he didn't clarify it much mostly because I think he respects both guys. But from what he did say I believe tony was the all around better coach. Seemed to hold everybody accountable and treated them as young professionals.
