Yeah and there were two CFL kicks of above 60 yards. a 62 yarder in 2001 and a 60 yarder in 1987. NCAA had a lot but many of them were when they allowed kicking tees.

I was at the SAINTS game when Tom Dempsey, kicked his 63-yard field goal. It was awesome. The defense stood around laughing, because they didn't think he would make it. The most awesome thing about Dempsey's kick, he was disabled. He had what is commonly known as a "clubbed foot." He was missing the front part of his kicking foot and had a special made cleat for kicking. Put that in your NFL book of trivia! Who Dat Baby!

Yeah this is still the case in the CFL where the posts are at the goaline, so the record 62 yard field goal was actually taken from the other teams half.

I don't get it NFL kickers can kick like a 75 yard kick on kick offs but how is it so hard to make a like a 60 yard field goal????
cole ouellette they gotta kick the ball a bit higher on field goals to get over the line plus there is some human error involved, plus on kickoffs the ball is slightly off the ground on the place and they dont have to aim as much
in kick offs then get like 10 yards back because they can kick it however they want, I'm FGs they only get 3 steps back and have to kick the ball before the other team can block it.
