I don’t understand your reasoning, because you talk about saving around $200. But a tv you buy once in 5 years, some even 8 years. Those $200 is nothing if you look at the total timeframe. Same for products a a bed where you sleep. It’s not that you buy shoes or something. It’s a thing you use EVERYDAY, the next 3 to 8 years. Get the best!

As a C1 owner for almost a year now, the extra blue can be solved by turning the colors warmth down to warm 50 instead of the default. That will get the colors to a more realistic color tone on the LG. I understand this is an uncalibrated review, however, I think anyone looking to purchase a TV in 2022 needs to understand that some calibration, however miniscule, will be required for certain content. Being a gamer, this calibration is definitely needed regardless of tv purchased. I have calibrated my older Samsung 6 series even. I used it since 2017, about 4 years, before I got the C1 last year. All tvs will have different settings based on content being viewed as well and need to be adjusted accordingly for the optimal viewing experience. Whether that be SD, HD (with or without HDR), or Dolby Vision. Most of which can be done at home following a Google search or CZcams video. No need to fork over that extra money for someone else to do this work for you.

If you are a gamer and the TV will not be in a very bright space any OLED will be great. Helpful video. I'm going to go look at these in person today. Before watching this I was leaning C2, but am now unsure. My Samsung (2 years old) died randomly a couple weeks ago but luckily I still had another month of geek squad warranty. That being said, I'm very hesitant about buying a Samsung after mine got stuck in a boot loop 😬

Similar situation except my current Samsung Q60T has been working fine, I just want to upgrade to a larger OLED and thought for sure I'd settled on the LG C2. I was looking forward to seeing what Dolby Vision was all about...
But I'm just no hearing about this Samsung. I'm starting to feel like the absence of DV wouldn't be such an issue given just how bright yet oled-like the contrast and wider color gamut is. The issue I have with demoing these things in stores is how I can't put on what I want to display. I'd like to put a 4k disc of the same movie on side by side, but on the C2 play it in Dolby Vision while on the Q95B play it in regular HDR.

I think there's a very important takeaway from this video. That being, that if you're in the market for a television, then the QDOLED is the one to buy, but if you already own an OLED, there is no reason to replace it with the QDOLED. While there is an obvious difference in brightness between the two, a person would be hard-pressed to notice any difference unless the TVs are sitting side by side.

This is about the 3rd or 4th video I’ve watched of yours so far (for reasons I’ll explain) and I not only wanted to thank you for putting such comprehensive and detailed information together but thought I’d throw in a few observations about the colours, brightness and highlights which may be helpful - apologies if others have already covered this (not read the comments yet). Found these videos as I’m currently considering buying the Samsung S95 QD (in Black Friday offers it’s now as low as £1,099). Have yet to watch your settings video, so don’t know what controls are available, but as an experienced photographer who colour calibrates their monitor I’d be interested how you can optimise the picture.
May be your camera settings or impact of CZcams, but interesting that you described the LG as being ‘more blue’ - whereas to my eyes the LG has a distinct green tint as well as a different, warmer colour balance setting. This tint combined with the warmer CB makes the greens look too strong, leaves neutral colours with a cast, though the Samsung looked as though it could do with lowering the white balance to warm up some scenes where you would expect the sun’s impact to give you colours that were sometimes a bit lacking.
However side by side, the Samsung definitely looks the better out of the box provided some of the overcooked highlight issues can be set correctly.
Our eyes tend to crave as much contrast as we can get, but depending on the dynamic range available, this can be at the expensive of blown highlights and crushed blacks. I doubt the menu options will be as detailed as most photographers are used to, but very interested to see how you calibrate and tweak the settings on the Samsung. Great videos 👍

I just bought the S95B after seeing them both in the flesh, at the same price. Obviously I couldn’t calibrate it in the shop, but there was something about the LG that I didn’t like. It appears almost cartoony compared to the rich depth of the Samsung. Some people may prefer this look, because some people do prefer Pepsi to Coke.
If you’re considering either of these panels, deffo go see them in person first because they are very different out of the box.

I agree with your assessment. At the 65” size, the Samsung is 30% more expensive in the U.S. That is substantial. On a separate point, are you sure that there is not a problem with your review model of the C2. The green and blue tint that it exhibits seems excessive, at least compared with my C1 (which is not the same TV to be sure, but neither is it terribly different).

One perfect example is the Stranger Things scene 5:57. This scene, on the left, is being displayed in HDR 10 in the Samsung S95B and on the right side for the LG C2 in Dolby Vision. There are two different versions, with one dedicated grading for each of them. In this case, they look far different.

My takeaway: The technology Samsung is using is superior, but the software isn't maxed out yet. LG is using a technically inferior and older technology, but a more mature processor. Ultimately, I believe QD-Oled will come out ahead, but it might be a few generations away. I'm going to stick with LG for this cycle, but I applaud the competition.

Hey guys I can buy the C2 65" and S95B 65" for the same prize. Which one should I pick? I really would love to have the contrast of an OLED, but the TV is going to be placed i the living room so I need the brightness as well.

  • @HenryTheBoilermaker3rdYear

Did you even change settings on lg c2 to make it at it's brightest?

Could you do a comparison between the c2 and the g2 i wonder which one is the best

Saw them side by side, only a tiny bit difference. You can notice more difference between the C1 and C2 base on the reviews here that I've watched (haven't seen C1 vs C2 next to each other in person, saw C1 before C2 came out though in person).

@@halo-halo9244 ???? G2 has better chip. Big different in motionflow and performance. And brightness reduction after time is gone in the g2

When they’re side by side yes there’s a good difference. Have both but never noticed too much, actually was quite disappointed with the QDOLED from what the hype suggested.
Excited for next year though as there will be a very clear difference and for someone who buys new TVs each year 2023 is going to be fun for me.

I do still want to add to that by saying they both have their perks, I’d still take the 83” LG over the S95B any day and A90J over both of them at 83”. The battle for me would be between A90J vs S95B @ 83”

Oh my dream Samsung TV! You, my link with the world! You are my friend and you are my brother. No matter what I wear: a dress or a gown, I will always watch interesting videos on you. And when boredom begins, you play many interesting games. Thanks to bloototh, I will connect the speakers to you. This is a microfiber cloth for you
To take care of your purity. I owe you great music and many other things... That's why I thank you! and I write a poem of praise... About my dream Samsung TV! I'm writing this about you!❤
