Not having it in the title made it so much better, was completely caught off guard and thought I was having some kind of fever dream
a plot twist that no one expect!
Yup!
My mouth was open and my lips were quivering!
Its because it was broadcasted years ago
Same, I was like, "wait, what!? Is this happening!?" Especially with the upbeat music and editing leading up to it- no foreboding at all.
Jay Leno is one of the few people that would ask “is the engine ok” after being in a roll over lol. Doesn’t get much more car guy than that
also good that Jays not the kind of guy that's on the phone to his lawyers while the cars still rolling!
A video of his wife watching that would be great!!

I feel so bad for Bob. Jay’s sense of humor really helped though as I’m sure this broke Bob’s heart. Glad Jay was able to keep his arm inside the car!
Dude! He nearly lost a hand!!!
Bob is still Jay's hero!
This was easily one of the best moments of Jay's life. Don't feel bad!
Nothing but respect for not using the rollover in the title, shows respect not only for us but also for Bob Riggle
Any other youtuber: i was involved in a car crash almost died

I was so shocked like omg. When he said what can go wrong i didnt even think that might be about to happen

Could’ve easily click bait everyone like 99% of CZcams but Jay didn’t do us like that 👌🏻
Well not impressed if you put the engine in the back to make it go on two wheels when there's plenty of people that does it with it in the front 🤣🤣
I think Jay and his editors are some of the only people that doesn't clickbait anybody, I think that is awesome except the "other people".
Jay Leno is CLASS and COOL!
how is it clickbait if it really did happen??
wouldn't be even a click bait tbh , that was an honest rolling crash
To be honest, I bet jay appreciates this wreck a little bit more now. He got to ride with his hero, and, brought home the best story ever. And he's got the video to prove it!
They roll the car and the first thing Jay does is crack a joke to the track safety guy. Jay is a lot of things, but, at his core, he's still a comedian. Glad everyone made it out okay!
Good thing Jay was wearing his safety denim.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The way Bob says "Dammit" when he crashed the car. Sounds like he spilled his coffee definitely not his first rodeo! Also credit to Jay for keeping his arm inside!
Just like a typical old guy... Dammit Marge lol
HAhahahaha... yeah! hahahahaha...
Spilled coffee, hmmm, sounds right.
Dammit Bobby
he said in clip to jay its the second time he has rolled it in its lifetime so it has happened once before.
the way jay hugs him after shows you how much this meant and how glad he is his friend and hero is safe.
Wow incredible how they both walked away without a scratch all due to well built safety equipment.
I dont think I've ever seen a 80 year old man get into a accident like that and walk off like nothing!! Bob's a tough guy!!
I was in a dodge grand CV with 5 seniors at work once. We would all get in a van and drive all over the region to pick up and redistribute cars for different branches of a rental car company. The 83 year old at the wheel (and every passanger) had fallen asleep on the highway (going about 60mph). I noticed he changed lanes for no reason and continued to drift to the left even after the lane change (it all happened within 1 second.) I shouted "wake up!" And everyone startled awake. The driver realized what was happening as our left wheels started to enter the dirt on the left shoulder. He proceeded to rip the wheel to the right, just managing to get us out of the ditch, but the we started swerving. After a back and forth battle trying to get the back end to settle down (probably swerved back and forth 3-4 times) he lost it off the right side of the road and we started rolling. 3-5 rolls according to witness who were driving a short distance behind. Everyone survived with a small scratch on the front passangers hand being the worst of it.
Seniors (and 2016 or newer Dodge GCVs) are tough as heck.
Or it's almost like people have been improving safety aspects of the car to the point where people in racecars can walk away from incredible crashes and this was just a relatively low speed rollover. 🤔🤔🤔
Meanwhile 20-year-olds have anxiety attacks because people say mean words on Twitter sometimes.
No he pissed his pants but the diaper caught it.
How many 80 year olds have you seen get into an accident?
This guy is 80 years old, rolls a car and walks out like nothing.. is nobody else impressed?! Lmao

The rise and fall of financial life depends on investment and risk taking, it is a fact.
Usually the profit made is based on what you invest and double. You often get a million, which can be wasted in a few days.
I have met many financial coaches, but John Joseph is completely different. He said to me, "Forget about earning money and ask yourself how to double your income"?
He is a trader with whom I invest in real estate and stocks. that I still have to get used to earning thousands and hundreds of thousands and not just spending it
oh come on, he doesn't need much publicity because he's made a name for himself. I want to say that John Joseph is not a new name in the market. I especially enjoy trading stocks with him.
Investing is always financial, which means active investing improves your quality of life.

This just about gave me a heart attack, I did NOT see that coming. Glad to see you're both safe!
I'm glad they didn't spoil it in the title or do any foreshadowing. I really didn't see it coming either.
@@monarrez you can see the car was crashed @ 0:30
jay is very lucky he pulled his hand back in from the window! this is why you should keep lims inside the car at all times.
Yeah, I noticed that too. Jay seemed to know what to do in that situation; that is, when the @#$% hits that fan, keep your arms inside at all costs!
You would have to have pretty terrible reflexes to not pull your hand back in by the time it actually flips
Did an offroad racing school once. The first thing the guy told us was if we rolled it to cross our arms and grab our chest belts and hold on. Tuck in and you won't get your hands smashed or get banged around quite as bad.
You're supposed to grab your harness if you're a passenger and just hang on for dear life. I believe it is the proper procedure lol.
ap2pat Yes. Of course I didn't do that the first time I rolled one. I have the mangled fingers to prove it....
wasnt expecting that ending, but WOW. and the driver, at 80, just says "dammit", Jay asks if the engine is ok. that is their pure, true character. it comes thru clear as day when you nearly die
I'm Bob Riggle and I'm also 80 years old.
Jays comedic timing impeccable even immediately after a rollover😂😂
🤣🤣
Ok I will never make fun of Jay again. He kept his arm in like a real racer. Most people can not think in that situation and loose some digits or a arm.
Thats what i was thinkin..ha had chance not to loose his arm..look closely.
@Charlie T. You've probably never been in a flipping car, I have G forces 9 times out of 10 try to make your arms go out the side. You have to pull your arms in to not get sucked out of the windows. With Jay's experience with cars he's probably had a wreck or 2 and knows to try and pull your arms in as much as you can.
@Charlie T. the forces are trying to pull you out of the car. This is why people are thrown from cars in a roll over, without seatbelts on. Theres people who try to put their arms up in a roll over. Jay did good here.
@Charlie T. The main forces acting on the human body in a roll over will tend to be centrifugal which will tend to act in a way that force body & arms out... He was clearly attempting to counter this, though against forces to powerful to control...
Some folks just like to have a contrary opinion, that in their minds, sets themselves apart from the masses, giving them a feeling of superiority... Does this shoe seem to fit snuggly to you Chuck...

Actually it only flipped once. The rolling was actually edited to make it look more crazy than it was
Tao has had his name out there for awhile now. He can crack a joke too and if Jay saw this comment would surely laugh at it. Maybe you should explore some more.
"Hi I'm Bob Riggle and welcome to Jackass!" 3:04
I have just learned the shock effect that comes from not putting something like “GONE WRONG” in the title. I wasn’t expecting that at all.
THE CAR ONLY ROLLED ONCE. It's clever editing to make it look like it did 2-3 times.
pro
that just blew my mind, I never would have noticed that. good job!
If you are right, then that is some good observation.
Yup keep an eye on the windshield @ 3:12 First exterior shot the car rolls, windshield pops out. Second exterior shot is just a shorter cut of that same shot, you can see the windshield popping out. Third exterior shot is just from farther away at a different angle, and you see the windshield yet again coming off.
It looks that way, but it didn't. Start watching just at 3:18 and note the shed windshield, after which the car does appear that it will roll again, but then doesn't. Very misleading editing, but hey--shock value is everything when it comes to views.
"Well that was exciting" .... never change Jay, never change
Can't say how glad I am Jay and Bob weren't hurt, to go from the child like smile, cheeks puffed out like a chubby kid at Christmas, to rolling the car and dice that could have been the end for them both. It never ceases to amaze me how down to earth and unhollywood Jay is, practically no man coulda come out of that roll over joking like Jay did. He already had my respect, but he just keeps raising the bar the older he gets. To short a run no room he had to trun right away that's where it bite him. May have been better off going for the turn off at the top of the track it was up hill.
Not true, he clearly, positively had room. I'm thinking they did this on purpose, to make a little news. An experienced driver doing that spazz move? No chance.

How the EU felt when England decided to Brexit.
more like how britain will end up
sol nah it's short term pain for long term control, and growth. britain never actually wanted to be in the EU. to the point they never made the EURO their currency.
The middle east isn't in the EU mate. And there's no group of people called "globalists". Stop sniffing glue.
Wow that escalated quick.Chill guys.
Yes, there are people who are "globalists"... They seek to erase the borders of nations, and establish a world government that will dictate the laws for everyone. There's more to them than that, but in regards to the EU, that's where they come in... The EU was just a small step in their plan to establish a World Government. They tried to create a "North American Union" and create a currency called the "Amero" here in North America, and they failed to carry it out because too many people caught on to what they were trying to do... They wanted to erase the borders between Canada, Mexico and the United States, and create a EU like government for North America. They also want/wanted to create an Asian Union, Oceanic Union, and an African Union. The plan was to create these, undermine the power of the governments in each country, and then merge all of these "Unions" into one unified "Union" under the control of a world government.
Just because you don't believe it, doesn't mean it isn't true.
Jay had his hand out the window on the roof when it started, lucky he pulled it in.
It was clearly wrapped around the roll cage and not outside the window.
Freeze it at 4:47... the pavement is flush at Jays window. Freeze it at 4:48... Jay's elbow is clearly outside of the window. Very lucky he did not crush a few bones!
It's just as bad to have the roof crush your hand between it and the roll cage.

he's been in some rollovers, he knows to pull his arms in and let his helmet/ the roll cage take the hits

Reminds me of when a window blows out in his eco jet car. You have to watch the video to believe it..🇺🇸
Notice how extremely high that motor is mounted?
That car is not meant to turn at more than .01g
Like a typical mopar
No drag cars are made for turning and any kind of speed.
Philip Emanuele its front suspension is setup for keeping the car in a straight line when going down the strip when you try to turn going that fast you end up under steering and the momentum shifts to where it can forcing the car to flip. Mainly because the front wheels point in at the bottom like \-/ a track car would have camber like /-\. As you can see the narrower wheel base makes it easier to flip.
@Desmond Bagley its really pretty simple, the car did something it wasn't intended to. It went over a very bumpy part of the track taking weight of the tires making it hard to slow down. Then he did a sharp turn while still bouncing.
@@joestewart5406 your example of wheel angle is.......... well..... I'm lost for words,...... it's just awesome
Man, over those bumps the rear tires left the ground. That is where it all started to go wrong.
But I love how the first words out of Jay's mouth to the EMP was a joke... The show must always go on!
If his first words weren't a joke - then you'd know there was some brain damage....
agree lost traction on that bump..
Think it had to do more with the big puffy tires rolling on the edge while turning allowing the car to lean a lot more.
Bull! Don't drive an unstable bouncy vehicle over a highly uneven surface while correcting with steering inputs. I'm sure that old fart could out drive most of us any day of the week.
That "damn it" after he rolls the car is towards himself 🤣 And I can't believe they ask the same thing in unison
Somebody said right about that phrase:
"Never meet your hero's"
#jayleno #2500HP #onnowheels
Props to the bruiser that hand fixed the sheet metal to get Jay's door open.
Guy's a tank lol.
They hit a dip in the parking lot at 3:09 The low pressure sticky drag tires turned into giant beach balls and kicked the back end out. He overcorrected too much and the narrow front wheels caught the pavement sideways and flipped it.
At that speed these cars only do one thing: go straight. Doing that in a uneven parking lot with no room at all to brake or coast down to a stop was pretty poor thinking for an alleged racing driver. They should have taken it to a proper dragstrip which wouldn't have been too hard since they were already in the pits of a racetrack.
exactly
and the center of gravity is insanely high, all that engine mass is nearly a foot higher than "usual" because of the unique driveline.
Funny thing is theres a drag strip right behind the track at Irwindale and theres 3-4 Good Drag Strips within 50 miles of Irwindale.
Wolf is exactly right. This was careless driving by someone with diminished reaction skills and it could have easily broken both their necks.
He had plenty of room to brake or coast until the bump upset the trajectory of the car and he had to turn. That car was going to make that turn regardless of the driver. The only failure here is someone should have noticed the dip/bump in advance.
3:22 "You alright?" in stereo 😂
@ 2:37 Jay definitely looks like he just time traveled back to his childhood
No kidding. When I saw him grinning with the helmet on I thought 'he looks so happy i bet after a couple of runs he'll maybe even let Jay drive the car!" Never in a million years did I expect the guy crashing
All these people saying he turned which wrecked it. Answer two questions: 1. What direction did the car turn? LEFT. 2. What direction did he turn the wheel? RIGHT. He didn’t turn the car left, the rear wheels LEFT THE GROUND after a bump and started rotating the car left with all the weight transfer. He countersteered like he should have to correct, but you can’t account for a high center of gravity and drag tires folding under in a slide, hence the roll over. Upvote this if you’re tired of seeing incompetent comments.
Here’s an ever further breakdown for people who don’t understand. Driver wants to go straight the entire time. Front wheels down, ramp bump in lot, rear wheel off ground and back end transitions left (as seen by left rear tires folding under in video), back end snap steers right uncontrollably initiating essentially a drift, driver counter steers to RIGHT obviously to attempt stopping slide but it’s too late. Also, the cement barriers have nothing to do with the situation. He was not avoiding them because he was not near the barriers, which can’t be perceived on camera.
And I mean racetrack as in the track they are at . guessing its a circle track
@Dave Pawson he just thinks he's smart. Couldn't help but see the car lift a little. I couldn't tell if it was a dip that made the car go into the air or an actual bump higher than the rest of the track
JB GTO 3:08 pretty clear that’s not a flat piece of asphalt
Just poor judgement all together. 1st, should have been at a DRAG Strip and not a Circle Track infield.
2nd Should have been at a DRAG Strip and not a Circle Track infield.
That car is made to go in ONE direction, that's forward. To me he was running out of room, chassis was all upset, and he tried to turn it. Skinnies up front w/no weight, slicks in the rear low on air, and a high center of rearward gravity.
Wouldn't have happened at a DRAG Strip..
How can people think this is staged? Leno almost got his arm crushed!
Because it looks stages af. He cuts the car hard to one side for what reason?
Staged!

3:00 America explained in 20 seconds flat
L wasn't funny

Ford still sucks... period
Ah... You ended with "period"... What's it like to be an ignorant, closed minded person?
+The Ranter its fuckin awesome
My neck is going to be sore for a week just watching this. You guys need to take it easy for a week or two before we try this again and we want to see the progress on the car as it comes around!
This was one of the first model cars I was given as a kid. Musta been like 1967... and this is a great video for stress relief. Thanks Bob and Jay.
Glad they are ok. Jay Leno is a good man. I love what he does for the military.
Don't mean to come off mean, but what does he do?
He travelled to the middle east to perform for the US troops, and he gave a wounded vet a brand new Hellcat Challenger, and at one point he auctioned off a rare car for over $300.000 and gave the money to a charity helping homeless vets, among other things.
+Anders Kristensen that's awesome! jays a good guy
Michael Luna Exactly what Anders said.
Anders Kristensen Sounds nice, except that he put the burden of owning a dodge on someone...
NOT A SCRATCH AFTER A ROLL.. Man their safety equipment is good. That rollbar is money well spent. The roof didn't even cave in.
They still missed the window nets because jay almost lost he's arm.
Yeah, that was extremely quick thinking by Jay. He saw his hand about to get crushed and tucked it all in. Balls included. ;O)-
Roll cage is a life saver. As a hobby rally driver for the last 16 years it has saved me many times. Can't express my self enough on how important a properly welded, well made roll bar is when the chance of crashing is high. I went off the road straight into the forest while in the Scandia Class 4 Rally here in Sweden and rolled my car 6 times. In 120km/h.. Only had a few scratches and some bruising but without the cage, well that would have been bad. And yeah no safety net on the window makes my stomach hurt, I know from experience what can happen. Even if you tuck in hard the force of the crash can force your arms around. A net will keep it from getting crushed.
well it was only one roll
At that speed the car itself is strong enough, at higher speeds the cage is sure needed though.
Drag tyres often get the bounces on a drag strip yet alone a track infield.
Looks like Bob needs to find another early Cuda shell.
My jaw hit the floor! Totally unexpected in the video; so similar in real life. I rolled a VW Beetle long ago, and like this video, it happens fast and unexpected. It change the way I drove a car, from that day.
*It's one thing to drive around in "The" Under Glass with Bob Riggle, but to Roll around in "The" Under Glass, with Bob Riggle, is special.*
should have been done on a drag strip...not the infield of a NASCAR track
Ya know Joe your right, The car was in the middle of wheel hop when Bob had to turn the steering wheel to avoid hitting the Barriers.
the irony is that there is literally a drag strip adjacent to this circle track, in the same lot.
Hindsight is 20/20...
lol
Perfect example for the problems of one purpose vehicles! Still pretty awesome! !
